It was never that rrp. The actual price originally was £4500, which is about right for this level, About a £1700 saving.
Downsides -
Fugly
Brakes could be a much better spec at this price range, Shimano m520 or maybe SLX or even XT
Wheels are mediocre, but will do what you need them to

Interesting pricing. I don't think Winstanleys are selling that bike at £2800 bcause they feel sorry for us. I reckon it's because nobody wanted to buy it at £4500, and they figured that their only chance to get rid of it is to try it at £2800. In my mind, that's still at least £1000 too much for any ebike, when you consider what you can get with a petrol motor in it.

That seller has a zero rating. Ask why it says "This product is a set of 3 silver motor sticker decals designed for E-Bikes, specifically compatible with Bafang 250w 36V BBS02B and BBS01 motors." for item description.
When I'm occasionally gripped by a fleeting irrational urge to muse about trying a hub conversion, I ask for exact make and model. I also ask if the motor has been marked "250W" by the manufacturer, and request photos of the markings.

If you look through my threads a few months ago, I gave some explanations on how to spoof the speed or pedal sensor signals with a cheap Aliexpress device. Today, I saw this video for another device. This one is much more suitable for testing. It could also be used as a permanent installation if you have somewhere to put it.
It runs off 5v, so you can use the pedal sensor, speed sensor or throttle power wires to power it, and send the output through the pedal sensor or speed sensor signal wires. For a permanent installation as a pedal sensor spoof, you'd need an accessible momentary switch on the 5v wire.
This one is very easy to set. For pedal assist spoof, the frequency would be one turn of the pedals per second, which would typically be 8 or 12 magnets per second, so say 10hz. Duty cycle would be 50%. For speed sensor spoof, there's normally only one magnet, and a 26" wheel turns at about 201 rpm at 15 mph, so 200hz would show as about 15 mph. The pedal sensor needs a discrete pulse, so duty cycle should be around 10% or less. Some controllers have the speed sensor pulse low rather than high, so if 10% doesn't work, try 90% or higher.
The ideal use for this device is to test your system if you suspect that the pedal sensor isn't working or is giving problems, though you will have to use an appropriate connector.

With the recent high profile (check our socials) crackdown on throttle/illegal ebikes by most police forces (easy pickings, look at our crime rate figures), I'd take such joy throttle riding with my feet up on the crossbar past every rozzer I came across in town. Then pull out my regs doc showing bike is legal and witness the walk of shame !!Noticed this near me

Note, I don't advocate the use of illegal ebikes on public roads, but I've never once heard the cops in this crackdown social media self congratulating videos mention that pre 2016 throttle bikes are excempt

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but in case you don't know, the police issued a bulletin sheet, which was a sort of flow chart of what they should check for. It had a decision point for independent throttle or not, then the independent throttle line branched into pre 2016 or not. You can find it in the "more seizures" thread.
