His decision would all depend on whether he wants to build it himself or buy e ready to go bike. The Tornado would pull his weight ok. What height is he! The Kudos Typhoon has bigger wheels than the Tornado so would suit better if he's tall.

It's solid enough that I carry my spare battery on it. You wouldn't need that type for your King though. That one is designed for bikes with no mounting points for a rack. The same company make a rack with proper mountings. You'd need to make some small alterations to put your battery on it...

Have you tried Kudos? I broke the rack on my Tourer and got a new one from Kudos.

A torque sensor requires you to be putting in effort all the time. It adds power depending on how much effort you're putting in. A pedal sensor simply realises that the pedals are moving and puts in full power no matter how much or how little effort you're putting in.

A standard tow ball fits the thule cycle racks. Just don't grease it. It clamps on well.

I raced along the Tow paths from Bonnybridge to Linlithgow last week. I was racing the clock as I'd arranged to meet my wife at a cafe. I was up about 20mph in places. It's not for the feint hearted. I'll not be doing it again. :)

On Saturday up here, a jogger was knocked down by a cyclist on a pavement. The jogger died today. There is a problem with some reckless cyclists.

The best I've done on my Kudos Tourer on one 10ah battery is 45 miles. I posted about it at the time. I used power level 4 & 5. It was a warm sunny day. I was impressed with the bike and with myself that day. The bike was weighed down with all my gear, including a spare battery.
