    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Oh yes forgot about petrol. Used that before to remove grease. Forgot the old tricks. Managed to clean them up a little bit using so household goods. Will do the petrol outside and not in the apartment. My only issue currently is getting the old bearing that collapsed out. I was hoping to...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Thanks for the info and link I'll give it a read later on for some hints and tips. But for now its about getting that bearing up and running and getting the grease out. Either way its going to be a messy job. Hopefully a new bearing will see me right and I'll be able to get back on...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Yeah SKF was what came to my mind first off. I'm sure somewhere like RSTOOLS would be able to supply it. But I may just send it on to my friend at his engineering plant and see what he can come up with. Either was I refuse to let a perfectly good hub die becasue of a bearing and some water...

    Are all bikes fragile?

Most bike parts are made in China, Taiwan and other far eastern countries. Most are designed elsewhere though. But product remains in the far east. I too am killing my bike though. Currently these need repairing... Front Forks Front Steering head Bearing Suspension seat is forever...

    Longevity of motors

Looking at my gears and ring gear despite the crap all over them they still appear to be in good nick. I've road daily 100miles a week since Feb (Although the first two months where on a different motor). Mine still works remarkable at a lower speed since the bearings are now shafted. However...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

No worries its all technical postings and all useful. Yeah the cable is now got a rain loop. But the damage is already done to be honest. The bearing this morning was fully battered. So I am back to riding unassisted after today. Not really an issue just takes me longer. To be honest I'm...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Bearing for reference. And the unsealed bearing making the noise and play. I'll have to wait till the weekend for a full clean up and re grease. The bearing Is pretty knackered though. The sealed bearing is ok but might be worth me replacing it anyway. The open bearing looks worse for...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Hello all. Noticed of later the weather, my commute and general aggressive riding style Is beating the crap out my bike. The poor thing needs a bit of an overhaul and some love. But in regards to this I've noticed a more metallic sound coming from my hub motor. Also noticed a small wobble...

    Are all bikes fragile?

My bikes taking a beating lately. Not broken anything yet. Apart from the cheap front forks that are now shot. Usual wear and tear. I go through brake pads quickly but I can say the bike thought winter is wearing it out fast.

    Should it be legal....?

The above is a bit of a dodgy way of doing it though. And I don't think legal anyway. Sorry I didn't mean to swear in my previous post. But it does sum up alot over the 250w rating system. The only real version is the speed. The rest should be allowed because it holds no weight. But let's...

    Throttle use Poll

Throttle for myself. Never got along with Pedelec even when using the smaller bafang. Mainly becasue it caused a small increase in drag past the 15-17mph of when I like to cut into the free wheeling. It maybe becasue I ride a motorbike and it feels much familier with a throttle.

Another DIY Battery - Makita 18V Drill Packs (Konion Cells)

Wurly, I believe Jerrysimon gets his cells from an Ebay contact that can do custom packs. They are well priced for the work and genuine cells. The A123 cells are Lifepo4 cells which tend to allow more abuse without BMS and survive unlike other chemistries using Lithium. I personally use Lipo...

    On a much lighter topic

Contratulations first and foremost. Glad to hear all is well. Interesting to know this. I've yet to even have my own, but its good to hear that things do get better with age. Maybe its not all bad after all!

    Should it be legal....?

I take no offence to what Indalo has said if I am included within that band of Cretins. I do fully understand the law and understand the consquences should I be punished. I do understand the point of view and your right it should be black and white but its never quite so. I find it hard to...

    Should it be legal....?

I'm not sure any cyclists, well ebike cyclists can be grouped into any anarchy. Very few minor members that will remain a niche Market for years to come. What happened in china can no way relate to the uk. They are worlds apart from infrastructure, right the way through to beliefs. I'm not...

New Batteries - Lightweight 9aH for about £40?

Indeed I'm sure I read reviews of 18650 cells with just over 4ah capacity about 6months ago. I can't imagine the C rate being particularly high to achieve that capacity. But at the cost you could afford to buy a few more to make up the difference. Although I'm sure your not meant to use...

    Should it be legal....?

Don't have it deleted. It was useful and showed some decent engineering skill which can only be more useful to builds going forward. I loved the interesting take on torque arms I think you'd be an asset on the forum just like I value other members views, opinions and advice.
