Same controller as my old kit. Best to add some solder to the shunt to help it up to 15-17amp. An as d8veh says check the speed wire loop. I would suspect it's the low amp controller not dishing out enough power for your needs.

Best to keep the battery indoors or least somewhere warmer if you need the additional capacity. And only put it on the bike when it's in use.

Bikes 2nd hand are a great Market. You can get quite a bike 2nd hand that someone's brought and hardly used because they've got a bit to much cash and then never get out on it. Like d8veh said you can hunt round and get some right bargains!

Drag on front motors is also more noticeable than rear motors I've found. Also more noticeable on road tires than MTB ones due to the extra rolling resistance of MTB tires

Yeah I can imagine it would feel a bit scary. Past 30mph my bike feels fine. But god knows what it would be like at those speeds. Scared incase I'd fall off. The slide on my crash was 25mph and had enough bruises and grazes. Maybe I should put some motorcycle gear on before attempting it ;-)
