Has anyone bought a new bike this year?

I bought a Kudos Typhoon a few weeks ago. I've got a couple of hundred miles on it. It's a great machine. But you probably knew that. :)

    Telephone Biking (If I Dare)

I can climb 100ft and still be in my village. :). I need an ebike just to get out of the place.

    I've reached my pinnacle.

The Typhoon pedals OK when not under power. My problem would be if I ran out of juice many miles from home. If I could cycle 20 miles home without power, I wouldn't need an electric bike. A second battery will be my next purchase. Of course, now that I've typed this I sense a new challenge...

    battery range/charge times

I've got a Kudos Typhoon with a 10ah bottle battery. The range I'm getting is 30 ish miles. I've also got a Kudos Tourer with a 10ah lifep04 battery the range is usually 30 to 35 miles. The lifep04 battery does charge much quicker from flat. A good hour or so quicker. 30 miles isn't a bad...

    I've reached my pinnacle.

I tried to beat my top speed today but I can't. I don't think changing the tyres will help much, it's the gearing I guess. My legs don't want to spin any faster. So, 35 mph seems to be my best on the flat. My next challenge is to see the furthest I can go on one charge of the battery. It's...

    Tyres! yes,again;)

The Typhoon tyres make a whining noise like a turbo charger on one of the cycle paths near me. Now in my quest to see how fast I can get I figure this noise is some of my power being used not to propel me onwards to new speeds. They're 29x2.1 what size of tyres would fit on instead. If you go...

My new top speed: Vol 2

I think we need to get a league table going for the summer. It will be interesting to see which one is the most mental and see who dies first. ;)

    Well I failed.

Getting to those speeds isn't the problem, it's keeping them up that's the killer. On one flat stage on strava a guy at work boasted that his time was faster than mine, so I went out the next day and tried to beat his time. Beating his speed wasn't hard but the average for the whole length was...

    Well I failed.

After my post about 35 mph on the flat with the Typhoon, I decided to see if the Tourer could do better. I got to 31 mph and had to give up. My legs weren't going as fast as when on the Typhoon but I had the spare battery on the rack which makes it one heavy begger. I might try again if the wind...

    Anyone hired ebikes in Austria?

There's an ebike hire thingy started in Falkirk at the Helix park. Hopefully I will spot more electric riders out now. In the 3 years I've owned the Kuds I've only spotted a handful.

Bike wanted for short fast commute

I've got a kudos typhoon and it pedals easily above the cut out speed. You could use the typhoon and simply turn the pedals and it will take you to 15 mph on the flat, a bit of effort on the pedals and you'll climb your 10% hill. A 1.5 mile trip will take you 6 minutes. You could also pedal at...

My new top speed: Vol 2

As soon as I spot a 200 mph tail wind I'll get the Typhhon out and give it a go. I probably won't be able to post it on here but I'm sure you'll read about me in the papers and I might even make the 6 o'clock news.

    Who likes Crank-drives?

Aye but will it go over 25.1 mph?

My new top speed: Vol 2

25.1? Hmm, soft Southern shandy drinker. :) Now that I've said that about you I guess I'll need to risk a heart attack and go for 36 mph. A young guy at work was boasting he can get over 40 mph on his racer. (He calls it a road bike but us oldies call it a racer) The gearing on the Typhoon...

    My first half century

I've done 45 miles a couple of times but not 50. However, now that you've laid down a challenge, I might dig the tourer out and give it a go. Luckily I've got 2 batteries. :)

When you go fast on a bike......

It was a tragic accident but nothing in that article will stop me from trying to reach the magic 50 mph. If I manage it I won't be on the wrong side of the road and I won't be in a big group racing.

    A nice early morning run.

I finished a 12 hour night shift at about 06:30 this morning. When I went to my car I had to de-ice my windscreen. I got home about 20 minutes later in a nice sunny morning. By 08:00 I had my bike out and did 20 miles. It turned out warm. So I went to the Helix. The horses are finished and...

My new top speed: Vol 2

After I posted about my downhill top speed I decided to try and get some speed on the flat. My new top speed on the flat is 35 mph. Legs spinning madly, I went for it. I lasted about a couple of hundred yards but I did it. My previous best on the flat was 33 mph and I thought I'd never beat it...

Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S11 Alfine questions

Always take anything that says "up to" with a pinch of salt. If you pedalled for 140miles then turned the electric on you'd have up to 170 miles. Only a real world test with you riding it will answer your question.

    Kudos Typhoon

I just thought I'd update this review. I found a rack to go on. http://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Wave-One-4-All-Aluminium-Carrier-440174/dp/B00CXSVPP6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397508861&sr=8-1&keywords=M+wave+carrier It needs you to change the quick release seat post clamp with...
