    Battery box/bag needed

Good idea, except that my bike is full suspension so those type of racks dont fit and i do have quite a large suspension movement on my bike ! I have attached a couple of pictures so you can see what i'm currently using and what my bike looks like, the saddle bag is made by iberital

    Battery box/bag needed

Its time for my ageing Turnigy Multistar 8000mah lipo batteries to get a new housing/enclosure as the saddle bag that i have been using is falling apart after 2 years of constant use and i'm going to be doing more miles from april. I have 3 cells in the packs that are considerably lower...

    Individual replacement cell availability

You get 5 of them in a pack for the price shown, so not too expensive

    2018 year of the 21700

Thanks I did think of buying another 8000mah battery and taking it apart for its cells, and just repairing my current ones, and its probably the best option really as i have 2x6s 8000mah and 4x4s 8000mah that i combine into a 16ah 14s battery when needed, but mostly just use a single 8000mah...

    2018 year of the 21700

Nice, I'll be up for one of them, After 2 years of use my turnigy multistar 8000mah lipos are slowly dying cell by cell, i lost 1 cell last week, and another cell this morning was found at 0v so i'm canibbalising the packs to keep my bike running, but expect i'll need a new battery by the summer

    Hub gears for my bike

Damn, mentioned to my wife last night that i was thinking of upgrading my gears to an IGH and she went a bit nutty when i told her the price so maybe i'll wait a few months or so and quietly sneak it in without mentioning it !! But the Rohloff is looking like the best option for me i think, the...

    Hub gears for my bike

Thanks for replying Dave, do you think its up to handling the power ?, the rohloff is quite a lot of money to be spending, but my chain and sprockets are reaching the end of their life (2 years use) , but the rohloff looks like the perfect upgrade for me. Also, could i fit a belt drive ? or is...

    Hub gears for my bike

So, I'm thinking of ditching the rear cassette in favour of a geared hub like the nuvinci or the rohloff, but wondering if they are up to handling the 1470w that my BBS02 can put out when running 14s lipo's ?

Bafang 750w Mid drive on 13 Incline Alpha 27.5" MTB

I'm still on the standard one, I managed to shim the axle to get a decent chain line so i could use all my gear cluster on the back, but only have about 0.5mm clearance between the chainring and frame now

Bafang 750w Mid drive on 13 Incline Alpha 27.5" MTB

I run a BBS02 750w on my bike, a Giant AC1 full suspension off roader which i bought second hand for £300, and i'm using a 14s lipo 8ah battery pack, I have 2 identical ones giving 16ah for longer range but dont bother joining them together, i just swap them over when i run out. I live in...

    A right thrashing today.

Thats exactly how i read it too and it took me 20 seconds to realise that it wasnt a horse riding a bike, but i had 20 seconds of re reading it saying to myself 'how does a horse ride a bike??' !!!!

air suspension just seen very "cheap"

It seems that we are heading back to the penny farthing wheel sizes of 60" !, another hundred years and we will be back where we were a hundred years ago !

Just ordered a 750w BBS02, my first electric bike !

I havent fitted the BMS yet, but i'm at work so will post the link later, I eventually went for 2x 6s 8000mah and 4 x 4s 8000mah which ends up connected up as a 14s 16,000mah battery bank, the two extra cells over the 12s setup really do make quite a bit of difference to the speed and...

    Bafang BBS02 14s lipo

14s in there with space to spare !, also fitted a rain cover, wallet, phone and lipo voltage checker too ! Its only 8ah of 14s in there, but i have another identical pack in my backpack for longer journeys, Its made up of the Turnigy Multistar lipo packs, 2 x 4s 8000mah and 1 x 6s 8000mah all...

    Bafang BBS02 14s lipo

The locknut and cover locknut are definitely done up properly, nothing loose around there at all, I'm thinking that possibly the bike isnt up to the amount of power going through it as its a 2004 Giant AC1 and was a pretty flexy bike when it was brought out new, adding this much power just seems...

    Bafang BBS02 14s lipo

Finally got all my batteries and converted from 12s lipo to 14s lipo, and wow, there is a huge difference in power, and strangely, its also quieter too ? Biggest problem now though is that my bike is flexing in the middle when i apply full power, if i look down at the crank as i give it full...

Why the Bafang mid drive has rekindled my passion for pedelecs

I'm not getting into a debate/argument with you Jonathan, I've seen your sort of provocative behaviour on forums before, Is there a block function that i can activate for you as a user ? In my youth, I was more than capable of over 50mph downhill and 20-25mph sustained speeds with longer bursts...

Why the Bafang mid drive has rekindled my passion for pedelecs

I use my BBS02 750w as a replacement for journeys i would normally take by car or motorbike, and as such, i need to get somewhere rather than just going out for a ride around, and because of that, i nearly always use level 9 and the throttle and only assist with pedalling on the hills, i'd say...
