    Hardwiring a Torch light

I think this would have been better becasue the T6 clearly is a hungry little light. It will last for hours at the lower level but its just asking alot from the current cell. Looking at the spec sheet for it... CREE XM-L T6 Emitter by LED-TECH.de Its min is about 280 lumens which is what...

    Hardwiring a Torch light

My point exactly. The torch uses a 18560 Cell of 4.2v protected. (Saves the charger being complex for a single cell) I've spoke to the ebay seller who is sending me another cell in the mean time just in case it is completly shot. Its a 1000 lumens and is really more than a need for my commute...

    Hardwiring a Torch light

Well i could just buy some better 18650 cells. But I have more than enough battery power already and it would save me botherring to charge up the lone 18650 cell. It would also mean I have loads light time and not have to worry about it. Thanks for the idea's. I would imagine the torch...

    Hardwiring a Torch light

Hello all, Quick query really. More of a confirmation. I have a UltraFire Torch 502b which uses a Cree T6 XML Led. The torch itself is good quality and the beam is very good. However My issue is with the poor 18650 cell. The cell is pretty rubbish when calling for anything more than a C...

    BMS Battery conversion kit

9fet correct, nice enough to offer decent range and decent amount of hill climbing. And wheelies. Although not power ones only when I pedal. This was a standard controller with a max current of 20amp. Which is mega low compared to what they can go. I shunted it up to 27amp at one point. And...

    Fun Bikes x2

Very nice builds. Very clean too. My bike is always covered in road poo. Bet the bmx is quite fun at 20amp and front wheel drive whilst still being well balanced.

    BMS Battery conversion kit

I've not run one. But it is a good fitment and so far it's been fine. However I've ordered some torque arms from a friend with an engineering firm so hopefully i can add them as a just incase. If you can get hold of them then it's a peace of mind thing and you know it's safe. My frame is...

    Other E-bike riders

I never know if its because i'm looknig or if they are getting more popular. done the commute today unassisted and its was a proper ball ache. Tonight i'm going home on full tilt. Forgot how much slower hills are without electric assistance.

    Other E-bike riders

I also saw some in Nottingham. The centre is much more bike friendly. In about 9 months I think I've seen about 4 that's about it. More rare now due to the weather. Still see the same couple of guys going into Birmingham and back out. But on normal pedal powered bikes. If only they knew about...

Kalkhoff Aquttu New Electric bicycle..worried about battery performance.

Dont feel bad about the batteries range. You can always add another if you really need those extra few miles. Either way I'd imagine an 18ah battery should give you a huge range compared to most 36v 10ah batteries (@ 360w, you have almost double that). You've got a good quality bike with proven...

Kalkhoff Aquttu New Electric bicycle..worried about battery performance.

Depends how many Watts per mile you get. This is a more accurate way of knowing what range you will have. The lights as indicators are usually not that accurate. As your battery is 36v x 18ah thats a whopping great 648watts or useable power. Given that most pedelec bikes are around the 10 to...

My wattmetter only shows the voltage

It maybe drawing that much power for short periods but it has spinvery very quickly in order to create its power. Its like a small engine where the higher the rpm the better. It will also be quite a loud motor unlike hubs due to the high rpm. But still its a hungry little beast!

    disappointed!

Does seem low but really does depend on how much you pedal. Also the weather saps capacity considerably in the cold. Just a thought

Could someone with a 19" hardtail frame help me out please :)

My top frame is a but curved so it's slightly different. Anyway my measure kente went exact but the vertical way it wouldn't fit. The length is to much. It will only fit if it's half the width of an a4 piece of paper. The other way across the top tube it could almost fit the full size paper...

    a revolting human cannonball

Ok depending on your controller combination you may be able to just add the 48v battery. What you will need to do is first locate the controller. Then to open it up to look at the Mosfets and the capacitors and look at what ratings they have on them. They are usually written on. Or if the...

    New build.

Very good explanation of bulk charging. Pretty much exactly what I would do If I wanted to bulk charge. Exactly the same peak volts as well. They only ever seem to go slightly out when above that point 4.17v per cell. Same at the bottom end also. Least using the bulk charging method will...
