How to become as punctureproof as possible.

yes it does add a bit of weight, you can notice it more when the bike has been stood for an hour or so and the slime all works its way to the bottom, if you spin the wheel you can tell it’s out of balance. Of course once you start moving it all distributes and you can’t feel it at all then.

    TSDZ2 conversion kit arrived today.

Yes they were part of my consideration as well, but in the end I asked a few questions and they helped me decide what was best for me and the answers were given freely, so I accept that there is a real cost of that support. I suspect if I needed help it would probably be easier to deal with a...

I think I will do the same but I’m not going back beyond my mid forties cos I don’t want to start a mortgage again.

It was a good game, I enjoyed it regardless of the outcome. I reckoned after 20 minutes it wasn’t going to be so close but massive effort from a position that most would not have come back from Interesting tomorrow and not sure how it will go.

I was always under the impression that there where hundreds of different rhinovirus strains and trying to find a generic fix was impossible ( unlike targeting measles etc ) but maybe there are bigger fish to fry as pretty much everyone healthy gets through a cold by just being miserable and...

Didn’t some bloke called Darwin say something about that?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I burn smokeless coal cobbles in this weather as it means less trips outside but logs run on this stove quite well, it’s a multi fuel grate which means the riddle burns a bit on logs so I have a half inch boiler plate sitting on it to protect it. Anyway it’s nice and warm now and the glass of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

IME contact probes make more difference than the moisture content, I tried making a 4 wire bridge setup which I believe is what the commercial devices are, using my Agilent 32 channel mux to measure but even that was unreliable. Measurement of some ash which was seasoned many years just a bit of...

    TSDZ2 conversion kit arrived today.

If it helps, I recently bought my TSDZ2 from Woosh, I found them easy to deal with and the bits arrived exactly when they said they would. I would deal with them again. I think you can probably buy them a little bit cheaper online but the saving isn’t massive in the great scheme of things. I...

    Factory Reset.

Good I’m glad that worked out, I did think that was probably the case because when I first set mine up I didn’t bother fitting the magnet in my impatience to have a quick ride up and down the street, the behaviour was exactly as you described :-) 73 Paul

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Far too unpredictable, finding those devices across multiple network sectors and determining what the output or effect on deployment is way to hit and miss, you would need to work out the end user application before deployment which means before sale and marketing... way back in design. Far...

    Police ebike checks.

Indeed, it’s one of my real hatreds of modern society. I used to think that it was an urban issue and that we in the countryside didn’t see it but it’s just not true. People fly tipping lay-bys and farm gates is common. Poke around the rubbish and it’s quite obviously local people not visitors...

On mine if I move the magnet everything still works apart from speed/distance information ( and any associated function of same )

I think in an earlier post you told us it was a crank drive? If so has the magnet fallen off the spoke or moved a bit?

Larger chainring for Cube Acid Hybrid 500

Its straightforward to do with basic hand tools , the chain shouldn't need splitting but depending on how much bigger you go with the ring the chain might be a bit tight on the lowest gears. Use the calculator to see what you think might be the size you need and then look how many extra teeth...

Larger chainring for Cube Acid Hybrid 500

Hi Tim, can you check if the chainring is a standard 104 mm BCD ? if so it should be straightforward (unless someone comes along and says not ) In terms of picking the size, number of teeth try one of the online calculators to model rpm of your legs versus road speed. I use this one which is...
