Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

I had never heard of the Garmin varia. So looked it up. Would a half decent mirror not be better? I have one that sort of bungees on to my right hand grip. Does the job. Round here I fear that the Garmin will just constantly telling me someone's behind and getting closer. Followed by someone...

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

Regarding these clips. Each driver would have had a much easier drive if they had just waited 2 or 3 seconds for the bike to pass the junction. Just a bit of forward thinking. That's most likely what they would fail, for.plus inconveniencing other road users.

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

I have a fairly common sense approach to teaching this subject. It's along the lines of overtaking is risky why bother if your about to turn off? I'm the same with any junction even roundabouts. Why overtake a bike on approach to a roundabout . As they may well be going a completely different...

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

It's not the room in those videos that caught my eye. It was the unnecessary overtake preceding a left turn.

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

I see where your going with that flecc. However the fact that a cyclist chooses to risk their body by going close to a car doesn't absolve drivers from their responsibility . In both cases given the cars are going slow and the cyclist is making the decision. However a tonne of metal going at...

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

As a driving instructor . You won't be surprised to learn that each of those cars would fail a test . Unnessary overtaking , no forward planning , dangerous driving. The examiner could take their pick. I've seen my own brother do it to a bus. Overtake then turn left right in front. When I...

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

Another bit of fun on our ebike. I say 'our'. Because we are all benefitting from it. My son loves that his dad will cycle anywhere anytime with him. And give him a tow if needed. Yesterday we had a family party. Few drinks at someone's house etc. I drive us all there too, car back home and...

Danson House. Danson Park, Bexley. Rode across the park to pick up my car. That was left their overnight as had been drinking. They converted the old stables into a juicer. But it's a pain to get to. So I picked everyone up and drove there. And got a cab home. So one more plus for the ebike.

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

I I should just say We are at a high point in those woods. Having explored very steep downs. And me towing him on a line is working great. Very quick and almost seamless.

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

Great video. And makes me glad I didn't spend 1000 s on a full German mountain bike. As I have absolutely no wish to do what he's doing lol.

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

I wouldn't argue with your sentiment Leigh. We see it all the time. However some of us are oddballs. I have never wanted to compete against an individual. And as for tribal I've never even supported a team let alone been to a match. A friend of mine took me to play squash for the first time in...

Self sealing inner tube saves the day :)

Since getting my ebike . Not suprisingly me and the boy have done a lot more cycling. With that comes the risk of punctures. He picked one up rear wheel of his bmx a few weeks back so I stuck half a bottle of slime in and it's held. Today I managed to puncture mine front a rear. Only half mile...

London Cycling, a bad start to the year

I'm no true cyclist. I've owned an operate my own driving school for nearly 14 years. I'm afraid that alone will stop me ever being a proper cyclist. When I'm on the road I'm on constant guard. And I think nothing of hopping on to the pavement if I don't like the junction. And using the crossing...

A quick blast across a couple of parks to blow away the cobwebs of a head cold. That was after a trip to the doctors to pick up a prescription then on to the chemist. Previously I would have driven that. I'm mostly riding in top gear now on the road and covering distance easier as I've gained...

When it's cold do you guys use a fleece neck warmer pulled up or half mask? I saw one in sports direct last week. Black Kareimor one reduced to about 3 quid. Thought I would give it a go. Blooming marvellous.
