I would like to know what are the reasons why independent throttles are banned in europe, are they more dangerous than standard pedal assist, and is there evidence to back up that, or do they not fit into some petty bureucrats idea of what a e-bike should be, if not that, then maybe the ban is...

I thought we lived in a inclusive society, when you start making laws to exclude sections of society surely that is a bad law. Having a throttle does not exclude people who do not want or need to use them but removing them would.

The recommended changes seems to be a joke, rather than ban the throttle they will place restrictions to make them obsolete, it all seems very cynical, and clearly they were not understanding, or not listening what the full benefits the throttle can be to the less able bodied.
