    torque torque

I know Bath reasonably well and if it was my wife, I’d fit a Bfang crank drive. I bought herself a Bosch Motus crank drive to give her confidence. She also has a Trek and knowing what I know now i could easily have fitted a Bfang. This sort of mid-drive is easily managed.

Possible build Dahon Expresso and Tongsheng TSDZ2B

You’ll add 3.5kgs + the battery pack. For the 36v or 48v motor the total might be 6-7 kgs. You’ll lose the front derailleur. Check that the bottom bracket is “standard”. I rarely change down a gear to go up a hill; these days i increase the assistance. Level 3 with the TSDZ2 works well and...

    Americans have found irony

contrary to what you might believe but I read this comment in the Tesla Motors Club "This is why [Tesla] keep saying [the highest level 5 of autonomy] [will be achieved], but also dare regulations to remove the wheels." The author might be meaning steering wheels but .... !

Front light for Bafang 6v supply?

Some brackets used to attach the light to the front forks failed due to the constant vibration. I got a stainless steel small piece of flat bar 2mm thick and bent and drilled it to fit a Sahara Sailor light. This light which is as good as the Sailor is one I've just bought with a USB connector...

    Tongsheng TSDZ2. Your experiences.

Only two things to watch out for. Although they say it fits 80% etc and it's easy, this assumes the welding of the bottom bracket is true and it isn't always. If you're able to fit this kit then applying normal engineering principles shouldn't be a problem. The second thing to look out for is...

    TSDZ2, 500W - a few questions

$380 + £30 UK charge = £330 approx. although paypal are 1.25 to the £. Delivery 4 days Are you aware that it takes a few seconds for the torque sensor to be initialised from startup? If you don't wait, the assist is not correct.

    TSDZ2, 500W - a few questions

I fitted a 36v 350w TSDZ2 to a Giant Cypress, made my own 500w battery, have ridden 150 enjoyable miles so far and am 70+ yrs old. The installation was easy but some maintenance of the old Giant (at least 10 years old) was very worthwhile; the rim brake pads were replaced and the chain and 34-11...

Can I use my Raleigh Motus 36v 4a power supply on other 36v

Thank you! Seems not worth the trouble. Extraordinary how some ebike manufacturers, whether intentionally or not, prevent their customers reasonably wishing to make their lives more convenient. I read somewhere that Bosch were able to retrieve from thier battery the number of times it had been...

    Tonsheng TSDZ2

No free lunch here but these people are ok; auto-ebike.com (also trading as BMS-battery.com)! Approx £320 + 15 vat + 15 handling charge by ParcelForce = £350 for the 36v 350w with set of brakes, VLCD5 display, thumb throttle. The latter is well worth it. Anyone contemplating fitting one will...

Can I use my Raleigh Motus 36v 4a power supply on other 36v

I have a BH Neo Cross 36v bike which has a very noisy power supply. But my wife's Motus has not only a more powerful, 4a, unit but is completely silent. Checking the o/p terminals of it doesn't tell me anything, so, before I open it up, has anyone been inside one of these things and could please...

The battery is built.... Now for

The N- pad is a common Source for the 8 HY1808 MOSFET and is at 0volts There is a YouTube video of a bloke decrying these things and, as part of his justification, notes that the heat dissipation capacity to really get a hold of a wayward cell is insufficient. I keep proving that and use my...

The battery is built.... Now for

That's 3S2P? So the batteries in it are each 2,600 mah and they're new and it's in a packaged Dell power supply and its delivered free from Hong Kong. That's too good to be true? Have you a capacity tester? There are reasonable 60watt electronic load testers with all the frillls.

The battery is built.... Now for

I have the 10S version and N does nothing and has no effect on the performance. I've built a 10S4P prototype pack with Samsung 25R and if I'm happy with that, I'll build a 10S5P which should give 17ah although I'm hoping that by the time the battery is due to be replaced on my Neo Cross, there...

    Cut-off voltage

i have a BH Neo Cross. They're very nice bikes. At some time I'm going to re-cell the battery so have been trying to understand what I've got. This utube video might help anyone interested in these 36volt batteries. On mine, when the battery voltage falls to around 34v, it shuts down. Why? I...

    BH Neo Cross battery connections

The yellow wire is on the "bike side" not the "battery side". You have gained access to the controller by removing the cover? I've now seen a photo of what is on the other side of the 8 pins inside the battery and it is 8 wires marked 1 to 8. The 36V battery ought to be 10S4P or 5P which...

    BH Neo Cross battery connections

I'm told that the 8 pin connector is for a diagnostic device which BH dealers may have. It tests the battery in some way and has no effect on the operation of the bike. i have a couple of niggles with the battery and i'm preparing for its eventual replacement.
