    My First Electric Bike

Thanks Flecc, You were instrumental in me catching the cycling bug when I joined this forum over 2 years ago and my fitness and general well being has certainly improved. The smoking was something I thought I'd never have the willpower to beat, having failed many times in the past, but I'm...

    My First Electric Bike

After following Electric Bikes with great interest for over 2 years I've finally got my hands on one, a medium Pro Connect S no less which arrived on Tuesday. The box it arrived in was torn and the packaging could be better but fortunately the bike was intact. I'm 49 and a keen leisure...

Just out of the Box: Proconnects 2009.

Hi John, Thanks for the photo link and info on your Proconnect S. I've had a 50cm Medium on order more or less since they were announced so hopefully I'll be experiencing it for myself soon. I appreciate that you want to wait a while before you do a full review but please keep the...

    Just back from Presteigne...

Thanks for the pictures John and David and for all the Presteigne reports. I'm sure there are many members like myself who would love to have attended but for various reasons couldn't go. reading all about it is the next best thing.:) Thanks again Ken

    New E-Motion range in UK

Looks like an excellent range with a style to suit every taste. Specifications and Pricing are very competitive too.

    Infineum Extreem finally available?

Seems like this bike may at last be available after it's premature launch last summer. The web site now has a Buy Now facility with dispatches promised from April 1st. With the popularity of MTB's I think this bike could sell very well. I just hope the Tongxin Motor is up to this type of...

    10,000 and it's still fun!

Only one year since your 5000th post and I remember you saying then you were going to slow down a bit.:) I've been a member for quite a while ( though still not a senior :o ) and I've read most of those 10000 posts and they've been very entertaining and given me a great e-bike education. So...

    New lights from USE

Thanks Flecc That's encouraging. As I say there's very little information about the lifespan of these super bright lights, probably because they've only only been available for the last couple of years. Having the convenience of a very bright light without the hassle of a separate...

    New lights from USE

Exposure maxx Battery life ? The Exposure Maxx D is finally in stock. I know they are very expensive at £300 but as I do a lot of leisure runs in the West Coast of Scotland, it is very easy to get caught out by early darkness at this time of year. If I thought this light would last for many...

    What size Bike to order.

I think the Pro-Connect S has a different range of frame sizes from the standard Pro-Connect 45, 50, 55 and 60cm. This being the case the 55cm frame would probably be best suited to your build. Ken

    Tongxin Information

Been patiently waiting for some news as to whether John has managed to get any of the Tongxin kits. Has anyone any information about this or is the group buy idea still a possibility? If anyone was able to organise it.

    Pro-Connect bar ends?

Ergon Grips I've have Ergon GR2 Grips and bar ends fitted on my Marin MTB. They certainly give a very comfortable cycling position. They may be a good choice for Agattu/Pro-Connect owners who don't like the look of their swept back bars but don't want to lose the comfortable riding position...

    TongXin, Where Art Thou?

Not heard from Grizzly Bear recently either, since his OTT response to your warnings about the Tongxin. Would be interesting to know if he has also encountered problems with his kit.

    TongXin, Where Art Thou?

I too was considering buying a tongxin being attracted by the small size, good freewheeling and cheap price. I did get 2 replies from Vivien' Diana's assistant. The first basically said that they would be glad to supply anything I wanted, the second a week later on 24/03/08 read: "We are...

    Wait, Wait, Wait

Definitely safer Tony I recently fell off my xtracycle crossbar framed bike while trying to bump onto a pavement at too acute an angle. (front wheel skipped away) I'm sure I'd have been able to stay on my feet had I been on a step-through rather than ending up sprawled on the ground surounded...

    Wait, Wait, Wait

Total agree with Tony, Flecc and Paul regarding the superior practicality of the step-through versus the crossbar. I think there is still a bit of a stigma about riding what some of the younger forum members would consider to be an "old man's bike" which is why there has been such a clamour...

    My Tongxin kit bike

Hi Frank I'm very impressed with your bike - It seems an excellent way of puting together an electric bike without the normal very expensive outlay. With such a small purchase price it "wouldn't be the end of the world" should the motor fail. Could you please give a bit more detail of how...
