Icompatibility between Different Suppliers' Controllers and Motors.

I'm in Norfolk, right up in the North East corner, (furthest from civilisation !) Coincidental though, I worked in Banbury a few years ago, right on the roundabout by the cross. :)

Icompatibility between Different Suppliers' Controllers and Motors.

This project is still as frustrating as trying to finish a crossword. :( Dave's comment about "nothing coming out of the phase wires" keeps haunting me. It's exactly what found with the initial and also the replacement controller. The hall effect sensors were pulsing correctly when the wheel...

Icompatibility between Different Suppliers' Controllers and Motors.

You certainly know far more about these things than I do Dave, but that leaves me with only one other possible conclusion. Both the original controller and the free replacement from the same supplier are non-functional, with presumably the same fault. What's the chances of that happening...

Icompatibility between Different Suppliers' Controllers and Motors.

I thought it might be of some use to readers of this forum if I posted the end result of my problem with a new controller not working with my existing 750w hub motor. The testing was originally posted on here on a couple of other different threads. I've found I can no longer assume that a...

Conhismotor controller red/yellow electric lock wire.

I thought I'd better post an update on my project to upgrade my controller to one with a better lcd panel and variable PAS. d8veh very kindly tested the controller and panel, and found the same as I had, that the panel appeared to work in every respect except being able to turn the motor. He...

Handlebar Adapter for bike display - Klickfix Multiclip

The photo may be a bit misleading as it shows the clamp, plus the extension adapter for handlebar accessories like speedometers etc. The clamp itself is very solid, and I "standardised" on it for all of my bikes, enabling me to have just one bag and one basket which can be clipped quickly onto...

    Message for D8veh

I didn't realise my thread was going to trigger so many thoughts :) My chosen user name is far more basic, I'm just a fat bloke that rides a bike and worries about how similar I am to my cartoon namesake....

    Message for D8veh

Perhaps I shouldn't admit to this, (too late :) ) , but I was staring at your post for quite a while trying to spot the difference ! Yes, d8veh, the chap that's given me so much help with circuits and such...

    Message for D8veh

Hi Dave, I tried to message you but the system says your inbox is full. Could you please message me with an email address that I can contact you on ? The replacement has just arrived ! amazing service, a great company to deal with.

    Clipless pedals

I second the suggestion about lubricating the pedal clamps. One of my secondhand bikes had the Shimano SPDs already fitted, and the SPD clips on the pedals were the only thing rusty on the whole bike ! I run my clips about as loose as they'll go, and they've never pulled out unintentionally...

    Garmin Forerunner 10 wris****ch GPS.

"Boats like that" ....I walked into that one.... ...and re the naughty word asterisker, I worked in a software development team about 15 years ago when we had to write an auto-censor. Quite amazing really, only 5 blokes but we compiled a dictionary of 2000 words without needing...

    Garmin Forerunner 10 wris****ch GPS.

edit - :) just noticed the asterisks in the thread title ! Perhaps I should have said "wrist watch" ! My apologies if anyone has discussed these on here before, but I did a quick search and saw discussions on the more sophisticated bike GPSs, but not that one. I just bought one secondhand...

    blowout....

I can throw a similar experience into this thread, and it was a first blowout for me too. I had brand new Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26 x 42 fitted to my Dutch Spartamet motorised bike (a petrol 30cc engine in the back wheel  ) This Summer I rode it about 3 miles to a nice quiet Marina...

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

Thanks for the feedback on the Aldi shoes, though I think I may be stumped now by their not supplying any sizes above UK 10. If I go for the cheapo ones it'll have to be the Muddy Fox ones, they at least do go up to my size ok (eu 46). Thanks also for the link to the chain reactions sale of the...

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

The heads up for the Aldi cycling gear got me back into looking at another pair of SPD shoes, and after much googling I thought I'd ask for experiences on here with "cheap" cleated shoes. There's quite a few negative postings on the web about alleged poor quality of previous Aldi cycling...

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

Just looking at the SPD shoes on there again, and I notice they say "in sizes 5 to 10". Does anyone know if 10 is the biggest size Aldi have sold cycling shoes in the past ? I take size 11 , and I never thought of my feet being unusually big !!

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

There's always a catch  Still, I could always use it to clean the chain, after taking the vouchers out... Thanks for the feedback on the under helmet cap. At under £5, I think I'll give one a try.

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

The individual cycling items are listed now, and there's an "Under-Helmet Cap" listed for £4.99. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-26th-september/product-detail/ps/p/under-helmet-cap/ I seem to remember a thread on here a while back where people were talking about using...

    Aldi Cycling Gear Heads Up

The cycling stuff is under the "coming soon" menu tab, for sale items on 26th Sept. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/coming-soon/cycling/ I may treat myself ton another pair of SPD shoes ! ;)

    Clipless pedals

I can well understand why so many people are frightened to use them for fear of finding their feet caught when trying to suddenly put a foot down, and falling off, especially in close proximity to other traffic. However, I'm also a big convert to them now though, because you can adjust them to...
