Cytronex genesis Day One Motor and Controller alternative

Hi Brueh How do you know the motor is shorted? did you diagnose the problem yourself? It is possible to get another brushless controller that will work the Tongxin motor if the short can be repaired.

    Tongxin Information

Spike, they just break sometimes without any reason.I machined a sleeving ring to re-enforce the original. So far that has worked on one of my motors, on another i can't stop it sliding off and fouling the outer hub. I use bafang motors now. I still like the Tongxins but they are aren't very...

Sprint tyre pressure 45 or 60 psi?

Acceptable pressures for tyres or rims? I say that because last week my wifes Giant mountain bike had a wheel split right along the wear groove around the rim. I put Schwalbe Marathons on it a while ago. I don't have a gauge i just keep them pumped up firm but not so much that they are rock...

    camcorder for helmet

Yes, i realise that i may have been unlucky, fair enough you find them very good. I was a bit annoyed about the fact i had to return the whole camera when all that was wrong was the micro sd card, of which (i guess) they have plenty of and it would have solved the problem......but hey ho i guess...

    camcorder for helmet

No camera for Wurly either. I've been quietly follwing this thread and i thought i'd give the 7day shop camera a go. First one i ordered and paid for was 'out of stock', but their website let me go ahead a buy it!! so i ordered another with a smaller micro sd card. That arrived but the micro sd...

Public charging points for electric bikes?

Interesting to hear of peoples experiences when asking to charge up a battery. I have found that explaining how much electricity is used is comparable to have a 100w light bulb powered for the same amount of time(approx). Nevertheless they still seem to think it's going to bankrupt their...

    Welcome Guests

    Welcome Guests

I find the site logs me out after a short while, so i'm quite often browsing as a 'guest'. Some forums i visit, i find i seemed to be permenantly 'logged in'. Maybe some of the 49 are actually registered?

Are there any good free running motors that support disk brakes?

That is very good. Not sure what tyre you have there but it may have a bit more mass. My video shows a rundown from 15mph not 20mph. I am expecting the hub to get better with age. I think the point here is, there is hardly any significant drag at around 15mph and i expect you don't see any at...

Are there any good free running motors that support disk brakes?

I have a Bafang front hub fitted to my wife's bike. It used to have a Tongxin hub which are renown for their freewheeling abilities. I swapped it out for a Bafang after the tongxin motor shaft broke up, i think in November 2010. The Bafang is nicely 'run in' now and freewheels as good as the...

    Turnigy Watt Meter ???????

They are good handy little meters. I use mine for charging and use it on the bike for a when i am on a long ride. I can tell how much power (Whr) i have used and how much is needed to recharge. It will allow you to view peak amps, which is nice to see if you had no idea before. I am tempted to...

Remote Watt Meter for £13 or less

Very good, thanks for posting. Does that meter give a realtime reading at all times or do you have to press the buttons to select? I like to glance at my turnigy meter occasionaly to see what power is being used. It cycles through whr's peak amps etc as well as giving realtime data. Not sure i'd...

    GPS tracker for stolen bike

Not knowing the differences, i quickly looked up. 2G - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Am i right in thinking that this tracker only requires an old (2nd Generation) simm card (as in my old mobile phone) to work ok and can be tracked online?

    GPS tracker for stolen bike

Mmm i thought that GPS provides the unit with co-ordinates. GPRS is the mobile phone network where it can send SMS messages (co-ordinates and tamper signals) GMS(?) i figured was the mobile network required for web based location. Apparently under FAQ using 3G would give problems with SMS and...

    GPS tracker for stolen bike

Thanks for that link zombie, that is the sort of price i wouldn't mind paying (almost to good to be true). Unfortunately, looking at the answers given to a question at the bottom of the page it appears that 3G sim cards won't work with that unit. It states 2G, 2.5G, 2.75G. I am not sure what...

    Here we go!!

Best put your feet up and live on food from the freezer. Hibernation would be nice (if we were allowed). A&E must be really busy right now,it's not a good time to injure yourself. I got to work today (using the car) and had to make way for an ambulance, someone had fallen from their bike and...

    GPS tracker for stolen bike

I was talking to someone about these devices the other day. He has motorcross bikes. One of his mates had a new bike stolen from his garage and he's paranoid about it happening to him. The trouble is, although relatively cheap, it isn't (for him)when you have several bikes. I would consider...

    Here we go!!

I took a tumble yesterday. The ice had finally thawed outside of my house and the sun was shining, so i thought it safe to get a bit of exercise. The main roads were fine with all the salt and the side roads looked ok. Wet but no ice. After about 5 miles the road dipped through some wooded area...
