    Food for thought

There was a guy who posted on ES about his road legal ebike. As far as i know he's the first one to do it. Endless-sphere.com • View topic - 30mph UK road legal electric bicycle I have considered doing this myself, but having to deal with the beaurocracy and trying to find 'reasonable'...

    I LOVE crusie control!

You know there is an easier way to incorporate the cruise control on KU controllers if you use a momentary switch. Hold the throttle depress the switch........it's set. (No need to hold the throttle steady for 5 seconds). Moving the throttle/ operating the brake/3speed switch/operating the momo...

    Waterlogged Bafang SWXH

I think hall sensors are more likely to 'burn out' if the axle should ever twist and damage the insulation of the wire. That was the case with one of my hubs, where i decided to replace the hall sensors. I might add i didn't have to, my controller works in either sensored or sensorless. Do you...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Shame about the bubbles, there is a knack to applying it.Try pulling it back and start again from one corner spreading the sheet with the palm off your hand. Its possible to get good results. I dont bother painting the battery boxes any more, i use the fablon sheet.

    Rocky Mountain Element Conversion

D8veh's two wheel drive thing for ebikes could be catching. I just checked my ebay folder today and the front forks are 100mm. It just so happens i have a 260rpm tongxin hub looking for bike to power, It should be an easy thing to do, i will have to get some shorter spokes and relace the tongxin...

    My ebay Electric folder

Thanks for the links everyone. I must admit, having ridden it, i would be more inclined to get higher discharge rated batteries. The bike doesn't lend itself to high power pedalling so i think i might be leaning on the batteries quite a bit. The replacement frog battery looks tempting just for...

    My ebay Electric folder

I'm not going to do anything real quick, as i said the folder does run ok, but new battery is going to be needed some time in the near future. The zippy packs certainly look value for money. I might go for lipo as i would need to get a balance charger anyway. It just adds to the cost. I'm sure...

    My ebay Electric folder

Lol, i thought you would suggest that! Not sure yet, it would mean replacing the controller and getting myself geared up for balanced charging. This isn't going to be a flyer, i think i would like it to have more range and cells that could take a higher discharge rate. The originals cells...

    My ebay Electric folder

So, the battery is still useful if i don't want to venture too far, but a replacement battery is next on the agenda. Time to open it up and see whats what. It's a 24V phylion battery with 7 10ah cells which have expanded slightly. So what are my options? I was thinking...

    My ebay Electric folder

G'evening folks I thought i'd share my lastest project with you all. I've been looking for a suitable folding bike for a while, most have been outside my price range, but i found this on ebay with a suspect battery. It was made by CEPV and is about 5years old. It was taken around in a...

    Rocky Mountain Element Conversion

Nice to see you back here posting again D8veh, what is the advantage of twin motors? aren't you going to double the drag effect of hub motors by using two? (I know it's a small amount, but nevertheless it's there). And how do you increase speed with the speed switch settings? when i connect mine...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

Someone giving away their age Hugh?:) yeah me too. 'Now boys and girls, today we are going to make a battery box for your new ebike project, all you need is some glue, old fairy liquid washing up liquid bottles (ask your mum for these) and some sticky back plastic. Here is one i made...

    I welded polycarbonate sheets

What you could do is, buy a roll of sticky back plastic sheet(fablon) and cover your battery box. You can get it in several colours from b&q. It's. A cheap way of getting a finished look.
