Orbea Road or All-Road - Which One?

That's a big weight saving on the tires, were the Marathon Plus tyres a lot heavier than the original tyres, or are the Pirellis much lighter than those too? I think I have read that the D20 is just over 11kg in weight, if that's correct is yours now close to 10 kg?

What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

The RM supercharger is a lovely bike I must admit. If my logic is sound from my previous post regarding the CX motor doing 3/4 of the work and you doing 1/4 when your going up hill and your using the turbo or emtb settings. Then although there is a 9kg increase in weight between your current...

What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

Which bike are you thinking of Gubbins? 31kg seems rather heavy for a well made hard tail. Is it one that has a double battery?

What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

Good question Gubbins I wonder if the answer to your question might actually depend on what ebike we are talking about. Let’s consider two electric assist bikes. Bike A, decent spec hard tail eMTB with bosch Performance Line CX motor with torque and cadence sensors and weight of say 22 kg...

Orange Alpine 6E demo day in Crowbough this coming Sunday 29th July

Great videos Eddie but even on a £7.5k Orange Alpine 6E I would never ever be able to ride down the routes those guys did. Those jumps they were going over were huge, how on earth do you learn to go over things like that. It must take a long time and a lot more guts than I have.

Full sus for 18 mile commute on road

Good question, I have assumed that its to allow people to go faster down technical descents, but having never had a FS bike I don't actually know for sure.

Full sus for 18 mile commute on road

I'm not sure if a FS bike is what you need then. Have you thought of a hard tail bike but with a suspension seat post (costs around £65) for a bit of extra comfort. Although its obviously not the same as full suspension, if you don't intend on hammering down hill on off road routes, it might...

    Orbea Gain D40 LR

With the power off Rob, can you feel much of a drag from the motor, or other than the weight of the motor and battery, would you say it rides just like a normal bike?

    Thoughts on Ideal bikes?

Take a look at the Cube Reaction Hybrid SL 500 it's towards the top end of your price range but it has a decent spec. I bought one a few months ago and am extremely pleased with it. It has the battery built into the down tube, which seems to be what many manufacturers are doing for their 2019...

    Orbea Gain D40 LR

Although not the D40 you mentioned in your original post there is some good info on this family of bikes in this thread. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/orbea-road-or-all-road-which-one.31907/ Check out the two links Capt Sisko posted last Thursday at 7:43 PM in the thread I have just...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

I've never had a carbon framed bike I assume its much stiffer than an alloy is that correct? I also assume its lighter than an alloy, so what are the weights of the two bikes, is there a big difference between the two?

    E Road Bike Reccomendations

Can't argue with that. In the video I linked to above, the reviewer mentioned that he found the bike rather heavy when the motor starts to cut out at around the 16 mph mark, do you find the same thing? He also mentioned that he normally does around 18 mph on the flat sections on his commute to...
