    Confused by all the choice

Just had another quick look around and found this site which gives lots of info on batteries. Here is a quote from it. As all drivers in cold countries know, a warm battery cranks the car engine better than a cold one. Cold temperature increases the internal resistance and lowers the capacity...

    Confused by all the choice

Thanks Woosh, take a look at this what are your thoughts? https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/why-batterys-internal-resistance-decreases-with-temperature.630648/

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

I recently bought a Cube Reaction Hybrid and they asked me if I wanted a dropper seat post. I didn't even know what one of these was that's how out of touch I was lol. Anyway I said no, so they said fine we will remove the cable for the dropper post. So I am wondering if perhaps that is the...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

Richardab wrote the following :- two identical bikes but different weight would get to the same max speed (he was talking here about free wheeling down hill). However Woosh wrote this :- on the way down, the heavier bike+rider will have transformed more potential energy into kinetic...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

David, West End Cycles in Llandudno Junction is about half an hours drive from me and I think they sell your bikes. Will they be getting any of these from you in the future and if so will they do test rides?

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

When I first started reading this thread back towards the end of April, I thought the same thing. With the 15.5 mph restriction I couldn't really see a market for it. Now however having had a few more hundred miles under my belt on an emountain bike I have changed my mind. Years ago I used to...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

I think it 250Wh, but that should be fine, these bikes will never be used off road, probably the only time you would need to worry about running out of power is if your ridding up some of those long mountain passes on the continent. Although we have some very steep hills in this country we...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

I don't think these bikes are aimed at riders that want to keep up with the local club chain gang, that's never going to happen unless you want to take the slight but never the less real risk of de restricting your bike. I would love to be able to get out on a racing bike again but I live in...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

I must admit that sounds a very handy feature, I wish it was the same on my mountain bike, I can certainly feel the motor starting to drag when I'm going around 17 mph +, on flat roads. Don't notice it that much going down hill.

OMG 107 mph, that was crazy. He was extremely lucky to have survived that crash with only those injuries he could easily have been paralysed or killed.

Not sure what you mean here, in a vacuum they would both fall at the same rate but obviously in air due to wind resistance the brick will fall quicker. Are you saying that if the wind resistance hasn't increased (as was the case in my example) then the extra weight does mean I will travel...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

Can anyone who has a better knowledge of physics (that shouldn't be difficult to find) help me out here with the following. Lets say I free wheeled down a fairly steep hill and recorded the max speed I achieved during the descent. Lets say I then placed several lead weights into pockets in my...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

The 15.5 mph restriction is quite a problem, but provided the road is fairly flat and I am not riding into a strong wind then I am often riding around 17 or 18 mph on an eMountain bike. With less rolling resistance and better aero position of a racing bike, then I would imagine you could...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

It would appear that several manufacturers are looking to bring out very light eRoad bikes next year. I am not absolutely sure why though. If we take non assist road bikes then I can understand why people would want to make very light road bikes as it will give the riders an advantage over...

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

Fantastic looking bikes, after spending just shy of £3k a couple of months ago on an electric assist mountain bike, I think I would end up in the divorce courts if I bought one of these terrific machines.

I hadn't thought of that, what kind of things are suitable for protecting the frame?

    Cube Reaction Hybrid SL 500

That looks ideal. It looks like you have your phone in the top of it too, if so do you use that for off road navigation?

    Cube Reaction Hybrid SL 500

I've just bought a suspension seat post for the bike. Only done one ride with it so far and that was on fairly smooth surfaces, but I liked the extra comfort the post offers. I will go up into the hills in the next day or two and try it out on some rough terrain and see how it performs. The...

    Cube Reaction Hybrid SL 500

Thinking about this some more. I wonder if no matter what mode you are in, if the motor is not assisting (either because max speed has been reached) or because you are free wheeling at any speed then the computer will log that as No Assistance.
