With consumer law hat on I find it sad that there's apparently no way of alerting VISA etc about the seller in advance so they can revoke merchant privileges in advance.
£700 (more like £350 but anyway) ebike for £99 (!) with free worldwide shipping, from 3-day-old website linked to on Facebook ad. No address, no 'about us' section, whois.net ID set to private... at https://karrobikes.com/
Given the existence of chargeback, I don't know why the scammers bother...
(after the G7).
What's a shame I think is if I remember correctly Biarritz is pretty hilly so I'm not sure the 250w motors are going to last long. £7.5k bikes and all.

1) Would anyone have any tips on how to get these screws out please? So far thoughts include that of buying a moderately large new screwdriver, asking LBS if he can have a go.
2) My motor/controller-tester box said the motor had at least two faults. Would anyone know what might be steps (or of...
The 36v which is beeping and immediately dying is on 36v on the button (makes sense as it's 2 out of 3 bars on the battery's charge indicator). 3+ volts when not powered on.
The 48v is showing zero from the power poles. This is wierd as it's on 3 of 3 bars on the side and I gave it a good...
Thanks Neal - appreciated. Do you mean the 36v? If so I bet you're right - I'll try a balancing charge (plug it in, leave it on) once I've got the ebike wiring itself fixed.
Could that explain the 48v light not switching off?
As above. 48v. Samsung batteries. Not ridden in anger for a year. Button for off switch pops in and out as it should but stays blue.
It began when I put the battery on my bike after resoldering some of the bike's wiring. There had been no power going through the system. Still no power now...
I find this "helmets don't protect you or make things worse" argument bizarre. The thing speaks for itself, as they say in law, or res ipsa loquitur. Having a protective helmet to absorb the impact of concrete is going to help. The kind of additional risk one exposes onesself by not having one...
I'm very sorry to hear that. I dealt with Panda Bikes a couple of years ago and found them really really decent, and can only assume there has been some kind of health or family problem because this is really out of character. I know how frustrating it is to want the goods you paid for and them...
Very apt encouragement for the particular buyer there.
30 days is the time limit for the so-called 'short-term right to reject' (faulty goods), during which you can insist on a refund as of right; after that period, then a refund, replacement, or repair is at the discretion of the vendor, but...
I just want to reinforce this is why it's vital to never pay by bank transfer. Credit card gives the highest - a frankly enormous - level of protection whenever paying for anything costing more than £100. Paypal has improved too.
Yup. I can't remember who said it but one suggestion for tourers was find local bike shops at interesting intervals en route, offer them a couple (?) of quid to charge the battery while you explore the local area.
Hi all,
For various reasons I often go for very long periods without using my ebike, but I know the battery still requires a bit of a charge every few weeks to keep it healthy, and every now and then, a good 'balance-charge'.
But - these often take it right up to full, especially if I leave it...
Sadly after 15 days the supposedly Germany-located light (delivery time originally quoted 2-5 days...) hadn't even reached the UK's postage system, according to the tracking info I'd been given. :rolleyes:o_OThey now say they forgot to send it so refunded me (after I queried irritatedly). A...
Very nice setup - though the Terns are proper money; if anyone's got thoughts about how to do it cheaper on the donor bike front, with a light small perhaps used folder I'd be grateful.
Someone with warehouse in Walsall, UK, and Germany, selling what looks like an updated model (same LED contained) of the light D8veh kindly originally posted about, including 6400mah battery pack, charger etc, for about £11. Just bought one.
Oddly enough a scientific study found that filtration was worse if you have bad 'fit', i.e. having a beard/stubble would tend to be highly significant for filtration (as well as of course bad fit design, and too low a protection factor of filter).
