    Battery switch leave on?

I don't know for this battery. I watched disassembly videos a while ago when I was researching and it wouldn't have been that exact battery. My hunch is "LG4800mAh" is LG M48T? They might think this is easier to understand for consumers? I am not familiar with specific cell models my research...

    Battery switch leave on?

Okay thanks. Here is the battery in question if you have any further advice. Annoyingly, it's reduced in price since I bought it and it was already cheap for what it supposedly is. S039-5 52V 19.2AH BMS40A LG4800mAh cells li-ion Ebike battery with 3A charger for 0-1500W motor/UK stock/Fast...

    key to battery ,wont turn.

The lock lowers a pin from the battery into the base. The pin will have sat in that position for a while and maybe water has corroded it slightly. Try wiggling the battery back and forward relative to its base while turning the key.

    Battery switch leave on?

The switch on the side of the Hailong case. It might be that my battery has a cheap BMS with no charging functions. I have not tried fully charging with switch off tbf.

    Battery switch leave on?

BMS should be on to charge. Although I have tried off and it didn't make a difference. I still switch on to charge to help prevent overcharging/balancing as per manufacturer.

    Battery mounting (Hailong)

Oh if you've got space but it just doesn't line up with bottle mounts it's a no brainer. Bottle mounts will be soft aluminium anyway much better to drill new holes and fill with steel rivnuts. Assuming you've got stainless rivnuts? If it's a nice clean hole with stainless rivnut it will add...

    Battery mounting (Hailong)

I have the same issue. It would be great if there was some base plate mounting solution that rotated around the downtube to be able to slide the battery in the side position and rotate back into the top position. Seems niche but there's a surprising number of posts with batteries that fit on top...

    Converting Carrera Subway 2

Okay, I get 1 revolution with a firm spin. 2 if I give it my all. I will have to investigate where it's rubbing, I'm quite sure it's not the brake.

    Converting Carrera Subway 2

Not with the bike unfortunately. I think I was exaggerating with "a lot more resistance". It's very slightly increased. But I don't know how much resistance a hub motor should have. It's certainly massively more compared to the front wheel.

    Converting Carrera Subway 2

With my kit; on the freewheel side, the washers supplied fit inside the freeewheel which meant I had to stack about three of them before the washers became flush with the smallest gear. I then put an extra one to stop it rubbing on the frame. However I notice there is a lot more resistance...

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

Yes it does seem many people in society assume throttle=illegal including police and councils. It would be interesting to see how local plod would react to the DfT letter at the roadside.

Twist and Go 15.5mph DIY Ebikes are legal

From Government website that we've all seen before: At the bottom of the page there is this exclusion: The last line is key, it only refers to bikes sold by a manufacturer or importer. The Department for Transport was contacted to clarify the position for DIY conversions and their response...
