Thanks, i would like something a little more secure than just a hex key, but that would be better than just a quick release. Other than the hassle of carrying another key, how did you find the Pitlock skewers?

I'm looking to buy some locking security skewers to replace my quick release skewers, so i don't have a to carry around a cable to secure the wheels when locking up the bike. It is not left in a particularly crime ridden location (works bicycle rack), so I think skewers that require a speciality...

Thanks that’s really informative, your conversion looks great, I’m doubting that I have the skill to do something like that, it seems more involved than I thought. I thought I’d just attach a wheel with a motor, mount a battery and connect the wires up.

I have a carbon fiber road bike that I don't use any more, could it be converted to an ebike? Is carbon fiber strong enough to endure the torque? It's a low end Planet X frame. If not, could I replace the CF fork with a metal one and install a front hub motor?

It looks like the new V4 is only 15mm wide, instead of the 22mm on the 3.4, a nice improvement if the fit is quite tight, i'll be ordering a V4 for my new bike.

I had no problems finding CR2 batteries, though AAA would be more readily available.
