    Fitting a PAS

Thanks. Will keep an eye out for that. In any case, I'll mount it a little higher as it's fouling the brake line slightly on the fold. I'll get away with it for now but there are a few more little things I want to do but they can all wait for the winter months. Just given it the first test ride...

    Fitting a PAS

Now you tell me! Thought I'd be grand going by the arrows. Happily, it turned out alright. Wired it all up in around an hour and it works. Just need to adjust the brakes tomorrow and it's ready for its first road test. I'm using a large unused workspace in the office so I had room to give it a...

    Fitting a PAS

I tested it on the bench last week. I'll go back to it in around an hour and hopefully get it wired up tonight and test it properly on the bike. Judging by eye, I'm a little outside the 2mm recommended gap but I can always nudge it if necessary. Think I got the arrows pointing the right way too.

    Fitting a PAS

My LBS came up trumps again. He had a lock ring and lent me the tool to tighten it. Looks like I'm good to go. Hopefully, that's the last glitch. Happy days. It all went perfectly as far as I can see and the PAS is mounted securely with the crank back on. Only the wiring to go now and the...

How important are brake lever kill switches?

Just been down to my LBS and he reckons I'll be grand, even though the little socket to hold the cable is a little bigger. I'll put a single switch in for now, as the other brake lever interferes with the gears. Maybe later I'll have a look at the hidden brake sensors etc. I'll be using PAS so...

    Fitting a PAS

Ah, I get ye now. Don't know why I did that - probably handier for the photo but of course the wire has to face the other way when it's mounted.

    Fitting a PAS

Dammit - there's always something missing!! I'll try my LBS and see if they have one. Can I do a temporary job if I can't get one? According to the supplier's website, the PAS goes on that side (the one opposite the chain). There are arrows on the magnet disc too.

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

Thanks. Will play with it once everything is installed.

How important are brake lever kill switches?

I have an old bike computer without the computer on my vintage '94 Raleigh. I might have a go with that. I don't have any bare cables on the cross bar but I have quite a bit at the brake. From your description, The motor cuts off when the magnet is against the reed switch - correct? Thanks

    Fitting a PAS

I'm feeling a bit guilty asking all these questions and thank you all for your help so far. I promise I'll document the build once its finished in case it would be of help to anyone else. I've everything fitted on the handlebar now, which was no mean feat given the space constraints. It's...

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

Here's a pic of my controller for interest. Any idea if it supports current control?

How important are brake lever kill switches?

Thanks I like the idea of the inline switches in the brake lines themselves and I think that'll be the long term solution. In the meantime, I've fitted the ebike lever to the left (rear brake), the side without the gears and it's fine there. I still have a problem that my cable end seems to be...

How important are brake lever kill switches?

Thanks, that looks a good option. As I want to get the bike up and running now, I'll use one of the e-bike brake levers and have a look at those sensors maybe for a winter project.

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

That's definitely my display, so thanks for that. It looks like the speed limit defaults to 25 km/h according to the manual but it looks like mine is set higher by default. It's easy to change anyway. If I use the controller as a speed controller, does that mean that assistance will drop off at...

How important are brake lever kill switches?

Right, thanks. I'll try putting one on the other side tomorrow. If I run into trouble with the cable, I'll bring it to my LBS. Hopefully it won't involve changing the cables.

How important are brake lever kill switches?

Hi Just starting to put my kit on the bike and discovered that the brake lever is fouling the twist gear selector. The little drum at the end of the cable also seems to be a little small for these new levers and I'm wondering if there are two sizes? I'm toying with the idea of seeing will the...

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

Thanks I've uploaded a pic from their website. It isn't the best but it should be sufficient. I can take a better pic if necessary but it will be tomorrow evening. You can see there's a separate on/off/level switch. Details of kit are here Regards

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

That's interesting. How do you set the speed limit usually? There's nothing about that in the manual. Forgive my naivety but I thought these yokes were limited by the EU to 25 km/h?

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

Yes, I know I need to set the wheel size and that will reduce the 42 km/h reading to something more realistic and accurate. Is it possible so that I don't have a speed limited controller and it will go as fast as it can? If that's the case, my question about power levels takes on more...

How is the 25 km/h limit imposed by controller?

Hi I got the replacement charger from my supplier earlier this week and I've now bench tested my setup - everything working as it should, thankfully. I took advantage of the long weekend in Ireland to shorten the motor cable and that's done and tested with only the final insulation to add. So...
