Thanks, I thought that would be it; but I've thought a lot of misfacts in this area (as have quite a lot of others) so thought it worth checking, especially as Nealh's post was so precise.

Does this mean even the Wisper officially tested throttle bikes are not legal in Scotland?

    More Seizures

It seems even more confusing than I thought. I can't find anything in the regs about 'standing start'. Neither can Google search, Gemini, ChatGPT or Copilot eg ChatGPT says the term "standing start" specifically isn’t mentioned in the regulations. BUT the regs back-referencing and...

    Mahle x35 queries

I often point Cycling UK form members to here, but for once I'll put in a pointer the other way: try asking at https://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewforum.php?f=55 The style of the Mahle systems means there are not that many users of it here, but many more on Cycling UK. That said, what you are...

    More Seizures

Crossed with Nealh's post. I certainly think there should be more special provisions for disabled users. Part of the problem is that there are so many different forms and seriousness of disabilities that it would be difficult for the law to adapt to them all. In the case of the throttle just...

I think (yet another opinion) that the shop owner was confused by the wording which uses Power assistance – ‘Twist and Go’, and usually called ‘Twist and Go’...

How legal is a kit which can be set up to exceed 250W and 15.5mph.

I think two motors is not legal for an EAPC even if the sum of their rated powers is <250w I stand corrected (see posts below). I don't know were I got the two motor not allowed thing into my head.

It looks as if almost everything on the Santana3 is heavier, so how do they end up practically the same weight?

    Comfort on long rides

Bar sweep angle is very much personal preference. I've got some very like these from Saneagle post #3 on the front of our tandem and I find them a little too swept back. Waspy's in post 6 look as if they'd be about right for me. My original almost straight ones were very uncomfortable and well...

    Comfort on long rides

The arrangement of the bars is likely to make for a lot of the difference. Distance from saddle to the bars (by bars I mean the part of the bars you actually use). Height of the bars relative to saddle. Swept back angle of the bars. (I find most bars are too straight which is good for control...

How to open a head / controller unit

Yes, sounds like quite a bit annoying. Sounds like pretty poor design; doesn't seem to match their (repeated) "no maintenance costs" claims.

whoops: forgot to post ~ mostly been said now You should be able to replace it with a hailong 36v and much larger amps. Beware, there are several Hailong connection pin arrangements (round or flat, and number of pins)., if you want direct battery replacement make sure you get an exact...

The NeoDrive reply seems to assume it is all working except the clock. Is that correct, or does the failure have a bigger impact than that?

I don't call the 'ladies' bikes shown above as step-through. Step-through to me needs to be much lower, just a very few inches above the bottom bracket. Unfortunately inherently not as strong as diamond or near diamond, so tend to need thicker tubes for strength and so be heavier .

    Battery Fires

HL is just a case maker. You will find many HL batteries with very different cells. Also, beware, there are quite a few variations on the pin out arrangements between different HL batteries. Doesn't matter if you are buying a battery and base, but does if you want a plug and play replacement to...
