Dalston fatal e-bike crash rider 'going too fast' - Court Case

A mate of mine managed to shoe horn a V8 into his short wheel base old landrover. That was a scary thing to drive at speed on a motorway.

pedals no resistance once up to speed

When up gearing I would not jump too far too fast. I run a 42 tooth narrow wide front chain ring with a 12/36 9 speed cassette and this allows you to pedal up to well over 20mph and still gives me a low enough bottom gear to allow me to climb steep off road climbs in eco in the 36 tooth bottom...

    1961 motocomfort mobylette

I don't disagree Nealth and probably should not have added a picture of my old motorcycle but the thread was not ebike related to start with and we have just all joined in and that seems to happen to lots of the threads for better for worse. I am sure it will soon fade away into obscurity. I...

    1961 motocomfort mobylette

I don't have to tax or MOT my Norton Commando 850 MK2a, although it did cost me a couple of grand to buy a few years ago. Lots of fun though and lovely to ride. I believe that something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it but the values appeared to have risen a lot from what I...

Mid Drive for off trail and Hub Motor for flat commutes, true or false?

I have had three chains break on me. One on an analogue mountain bike, one on my Yamaha crank drive Haibike, and one on my £100 second hand rear hub Oxygen. I think for road commuting with lots of starting and stopping an old fashioned rear hub cadence sensor bike with an unrestricted throttle...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

That looks like a fantastic ride Zlatan and great pictures.:) Now for Dom T. On my recent cross country ride to work I found some abandoned pink gloves. Now that is just damn right ruddery to come down to my neck of the woods, ride on my tracks, and not stop by for a cup of char. You should be...

    Cheap ebay solid tires

Get some modern puncture proof tyres as they really are now and you would be very unlucky to get a puncture.

    Bosch Batteries

remember you can still get a lot of use out of the old one. So if you wanted to buy a less expensive 400Wh you would still have more than 500Wh if you used your old battery first and then swapped over when needed.

Petition to legalizing throttle only eBikes for the disabled

My 2011 Oxygen Emate City has an unrestricted throttle, and although I am not disabled I find it very useful. So to say ebike law has not changed at all cannot be true for my bike to have been produced with a legal unrestricted throttle in the relatively recent past and for throttles to now to...

    Wearing earphones while cycling

As riding amongst other traffic on a bike you are likely to be the most vulnerable I would not want to impair my hearing. There is also the question of your concentration being impaired by whatever you are listening too. So I am in the no camp. However I am in the minority now that does not...

    Folding eMTBs

These often get good write ups https://www.oxygenbicycles.com/ Another, though much lighter pedelec member Kangaroo rated this folder which seems cheap enough to take a chance on. https://www.piratescave.co.uk/seago-folding-electric-bike.html I am over the weight limit on my hard tail Haibike...

Stealthy conversion for bike thats left at train station

You should test ride some legal bikes, as although they are 250w they are allowed to peak a lot higher and still be legal and you might find that they are more powerful than you had expected. Test riding is a good idea anyway.

Stealthy conversion for bike thats left at train station

This bike has been seen often at a local station to me in Surrey for about two years now without getting nicked. Quite remarkable. Stations are known to be high risk areas for bike theft. What about a folder that you can take with you and use the other end to ride the 10 miles you do each day...

11,,544 Miles update Cassette and chain have now completed 1110 miles since 9th of January 2019. Though on my last ride home my chain broke with about 5 miles of my commute to go. Last time a chain broke on my commute I was going to work in the dark up a steep hill and stopped straight away...

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

Had my own little nightmare last night. My chain broke last night on my way home with about 5 miles of my commute to go. Last time a chain broke on my commute I was going to work up a steep hill and stopped straight away and then found my chain easily just behind me on the road. I was also...

    Waterproof trousers or 3/4's

Mountain warehouse as a brand do generous sizes, good quality and generally at the cheaper end of the scale. I have used their thermal long sleeved polo style tops which are excellent for cycling in colder temperatures or skiing. I have got their stuff off amazon but they also have stores and...
