Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

I purchased an as new Jetstream from ebay a while back. Whilst its a nice looking bike and I am sure the suspension makes for a nice smooth ride I sent it back. My main reason was that I wanted to fit a front motor and the fork spacing/profile was wrong. As you say its quite large for a...

Tonaro and Momentum reviews in new A to B issue 92

Lazy folk! Many people use e-assist bikes when the alternative given their physical condition, means that they would never even consider using a bicycle. I myself am an insulin dependant diabetic and without e-assist, there is no way I would have ever considered commuting daily the 10 mile...

    Professional ebike consultancy charges

That is an admirable aim and desire to help the industry. My initial post was of course mostly in jest. Whilst valid questions from someone starting out, the quality and depth of the questions did make me wonder whether the company had a deep enough understanding and experience to have any long...

    Professional ebike consultancy charges

No I am an ICT manager and work in the public sector, so these charges would help greatly to boost my apparent excessive salary and over inflated Government pension as reported by the national press ;) I should add a "smart" supplier would read back through all my conversion threads (and the...

    Professional ebike consultancy charges

I recently received yet another request from a supplier who wanted my advice on converting Bromptons to electric power. "Hi, just wondered if you would be willing to help us with some feedback? We are working on a conversion kit for Brompton bikes. Our main problem is the battery pack. What...

Clearly something going on with China post ?

Yes Eddie I think the poor English often gives that impression on first reading. However they have over 1000 sales and 99% positive feed back. I remain optimistic :) Regards Jerry

How much you knew about the E-bike batteries ?

Once you get over the pigeon English, I actually found the post a good read and quite informative. Though it blows away my preference for small 36v 2.3Ah 2* (6s1p) A123 batteries lol Three years, 4000 miles and over 800 charge cycles and counting :) Regards Jerry

Clearly something going on with China post ?

I had another email today for something that I purchased that was not ebike or battery related. --------------- Dear Jerry, Kindly inform you that your two packages were sent out on 18th Oct. 2012 and the tracking number are *** and *** by China Post. But I should let you know the condition...

Yep as I said these are 349mm rims. E conversions always get complicated with small wheeled "compact" folding bikes. I have just checked again and it looks like it does not have suspension front or rear. Regards Jerry

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

It will be written on the side of the tire. I would say its almost DEFINATLEY 349mm. Best puncture proof tires in that size are Marathon Plus but be aware that they are weighty and will add another 0.5-0.7kg to the carry weight. Building a wheel is not a problem several people on here will...

Yep the Tongxin Nanos are pretty much silent and are reported to run better in freewheel mode. The Tongxin Goldants are a little noisier but not much. These motors use flat steel rollers gears rather than the nylon cog/gears. Earlier versions of the Nanos did prove less reliable in larger...

You can still get the Tongxin Nano slightly heavier rear motors I think. You would have to email Diana Lin. The Goldant motors even though speced at 260RPM run a 16" wheel at 16.5mph with their pedelec only controller. I have one on my Brompton Ti and it is way quicker than my Tongxin Nano...
