I just used my front derailleur at first(saved having to split the chain) then when I replaced the chain I left the guide off and my chain has never fallen off even when going over really rough trails.

Used to use this sort of spray 30 years ago (on a Reliant Supervan) and it works great but does not last long. Used to wait till a hill then spray the rear tyres and it really did make a difference.

Studded tyres dont need to be expensive. £25 delivered sounds good to me...

Different chainline.47.5mm rather than 50. Needed because its a 73mm BB That $8 needs $28 addind for postage!

I used to live in Oxenhope and know of quite a few hills round there that can cause brake fade!!

Got my Cannondale and it looks like i need an http://www.alcedoitalia.it/shop/accessori-bbs/corona-42-denti-per-bafang-centrale-bbs01/ for it to keep the chainline correct. I qill move the BBS over next Tuesday then I will know if I need some chainrings or not.

Sounds good. I think extra support should be the norm with these batteries,2 bolts designed to hold a pop bottle does not inspire me with confidence to hold £300+ worth of potentially explosive chemicals :eek:

So are you saying you cant boil your brakes in Yorkshire?

Your brake fluid has reached boiling point(I had this problem years back on a Suzuki T500 I used to race but my problem came from brake drag due to a dodgy caliper. You need to replace the fluid with new or risk it happening again !! I found that out the hard way at 120Mph at Cadwell Park.

Sounds good then,a battery is expensive but you can be fixed up on the NHS for free ;) Its been foggy and wet here lately so not been out riding but the suns peeking through now so think I will get out while I can. See you on Strava..x

Glad to hear you are (almost) ok. If the nuts have torn the frame at all yhe best fix would be to get the holes welded up completely then redrill them and fit rivnuts. If possible it might be a good time to try and sort some extra support for it as well. I would also put the battery somewhere...

3 x 18.5 volt Lipos when fully charged will be at 63 volts so a 60 volt cap will blow.!

No noise from these but there is a slight ticking noise from the Promax front but its only done 6 miles so far.

I left the front derailleur on my Evade for a while but found I did not need it(7 speed freewheel). The Cannondale has an 8 speed and the chainstay will touch the 46 tooth chainwheel so I will need a chainring adaptor and 42 tooth chainwheel and that should sort the chainline out. I am hoping to...

They will fit post mount and IS as they have adaptors included(& discs). I have 2 full sets and another front and all work perfectly straight out of the box.

I bought a Cannondale Trail 29er yesterday that comes with Promax Decipher hydraulic brakes and they are just as efficient as my cheapo Clarks sets.

They lock my wheels so I dont see how I could get better.
