    Brexit, for once some facts.

Anyone would be better than Camelot who have completely wrecked the National Lottery, turning it into a giant fiddle defrauding the people. They aren't alone in this of course, the government being their partner in the crime. .

Indeed, I remember the old two star one I owned almost 60 years ago, when it started it would shake the entire fridge with a shudder. I cannot hear any sound when the present one starts up, it's effectively silent all the time. Quality Chinese engineering from English company LEC. ;) .

My Lec L5517 under counter larder fridge installation data states a current draw of 70 watts, so even two of them would be within a 1000 watt inverter at 6 times startup current draw. One like mine only draws 420 watts at its 6 times startup current. These current A+ fridges are really...

Well we've known for years about the strength of the far right Neo Nazis in Europe, particularly in Germany, The Netherlands, Austria and Poland. Poor Vladimir, he tries to save Europe from the Nazis and gets criticised. As Harry Enfield's character "Kevin" used to say, "It's so unfair". ;) .

    Kalkhoff battery question

It was released at the end of 2007 only as the Kalkhoff Agattu. Later they introduced a version with a Panasonic front hub motor so to distinguish the two, the one with the centre crank motor was called Agattu C, the one with the front hub motor was called Agattu F. However both used the same...

    Kalkhoff battery question

A word of caution since it appears you may have just bought the bike. Are you sure the motor unit is working before you buy an expensive battery? There are no spares available from Panasonic and the internal circuit board is encapsulated and unrepairable if faulty. See under New Type Unit on...

    Kalkhoff battery question

That will be the version with the Panasonic 26 volt motor, later they used different motors. There's various sources online for these quite expensive batteries, available in various capacities: Here's one web site with a choice if you scroll down, .

It often seems to be going the other way though, type 2 charge sockets for AC slow and fast charging, with CCS instead of CHAdeMO for DC rapid charging getting more popular. This really needs to be sorted before we get into another VHS/Betamax/V2000 mess. .

Yes, and why I remarked to Zlatan that one might as well go for a home powerwall installation with PV panels on the roof. Dearer but with payback over at least 15 years and plenty of emergency power for power outages. All Nissan Leafs have always been capable of Vehicle to Grid through their...

That was for an emergency use though, not a professionally installed system. It you are going for that, might as well install a powerwall with PV panels on the roof to have permanent backup and earn some money back. .

Generally agree, but there shouldn't be an issue with the 12 volt battery not coping. That's because it's being charged all the time into the common terminals so theres current coming directly from the traction battery as well. Also couldn't use the house wiring since that would distribute...

Not yet here as a kit, but Ovo Energy are running a trial of "Vehicle to Grid" and the government is keen on the idea. We need a lot more than our present 440,000 pure battery cars yet though to make it worth a lot more investment. In both Japan and Denmark vehicle to grid is quite...

The charging infrastructure is growing very rapidly though and is excessive in many areas, so much so that several charging companies have already failed and been taken over, and they won't be the last by any means. These companies failed to appreciate what home charging means. Unlike ic...

They need to update that article, the new household price for a unit of electricity from 1st April is often the 30 p they quote as expensive at a charge point. Charge points will have to become much dearer. However EV isn't more expensive than IC at 30 p a unit. On my Leaf comparing 30p per...

Indeed, that's why I put the emphasis on perfect control. Even on lesser e-cars the torque is far in excess of what is needed, often what it's possible to use with today's road conditions. That bike is insane, excess torque isn't beginning to describe what it's got. .

Same with e-cars, and why so many like me say they will never go back to ic cars. The loss of perfect control alone is far too great. .

What an utterly stupid and ignorant test, we already know the answers. Electric cars are deliberately designed as a complete entity, not to be used for towing or body size added to. That's because to take advantage of their huge starting torque they have no gearboxes so for driver and...

Agreed, and why I posted many days ago that they'd be wisest to detach their economy entirely from the outside world for the time being, running it entirely as an internal rouble one, unaffected by what the outside world does economically. They are so resource rich on food, energy and minerals...
