    Bicycles to pay road tax

As it is about getting "facts checked", I think your main premiss re tyres and the damage on tarmac, is probably flawed. Structurally, would not pressure be the damaging factor not weight?

Cross bar adapter for 21kg step thru ebike

This claims 25 kgs I personally would worry if used with any hang on bike rack, but not at all if on a stand on type rack where it only steadies the bike. AUX X-Bar c/w Stability Strap Kit (maxxraxx.co.uk)

    Dutch bike lock

Even if you have to resort to angle grinding it off, these locks are not overly expensive to replace, about £20 for a Trelock offering. I looked at buying the dedicated plug-in cable accessory, but that relatively was expensive, I improvised. I use a heavy [10mm] Kryptonite 2 plus metre cable...

Recomendations for folding bike (second bike)

With non e-bikes we found the cycling experience of folders not to our taste, so purchased a bike carrier, to take our 700 road bikes; is that a viable alternative option using what you have? We already had a towball making rack options attractive.

Consider Before You Buy Your First E-Bike

What I am buying an e-bike for, then everything better falls into place after that.

    Rambletta or Raleigh Motus

They are so different technologies it is just like comparing apples with onions, they have little more in common than are much the same shape. That being the case if you want to make a considered choice you need to try both, at least both the base technologies and the control concepts.

    Filed down dropouts too much

You might possibly take up the clearance with a "shim" of tin plate, cut from say a coffee tin can? For the torque arm to allow the cable to wind up that must have failed.

    Cracked Ali frame

The issue here is nothing to do with the strength of the epoxy carbon fibre composite material, I think we all realise that, but its bond to the aluminium, particularly here in this application.

    Fold up Bikes

IMO, you are better off taking the balance of the advice given here than opting out and only buying what you can try out pre purchase. Any initial "test" of an ebike will be seductive, making a buying selection based on just that unsound, if into the testing you really need to try several...

    Dummies Guide to eBikes ...

If my experience is typical then as with most things technical a "Dummies" guide only goes so far in upping one's understanding, typically only being of relevance as a reference after you encounter an "issue".

Charging an ebike from a leisure battery?

Again, no great surprise it is all about "energy", your 90 Ah battery holds, well did when the factory tested a sample, 1080 Watt hour, and typically can offer about half of that before getting into seriously damaging territory. [A few years in and probably holding just a fraction of its once...

Charging an ebike from a leisure battery?

Something like this kit makes a bit of sense. An evening in the pub probably more. If you are camping near, the Carpenter's Arms at Bransgore do excellent meals with homemade pies, enough energy in those to pedal unassisted a fair way over the Forest.

Charging an ebike from a leisure battery?

On exceptionally good days a 10 Watt will get 6 hours of high yield, so that will give you at best, 60 Watt hours of energy. [You will be off cycling or otherwise not there to optimise tracking the sun.] Your 17 Ah 36 volt battery at best stores 17x 36= 612 watts hours. So with 100% efficient...

Surely that is to facilitate their further exploitation of their main income stream, their clients?;)

Walking and biking prioritised in new Highway Code

Compliance with what we have, seems to be the better target than a rewrite of rules that similarly will not be complied with and as likely bring no "real" penalty or incentive.

New to e bikes .chargeing question

Are EV rapid chargers outputting European mains voltages and frequencies to even power the e-bikes mains charger? Genuine question, as I have presently no idea what the standard interface voltage and or frequencies are, and just surprised with Tesla being a big player in EVs, the European mains...

New to e bikes .chargeing question

But if carrying your charger you can exploit such charging options as coffee, tea shops and many pubs like Wetherspoons, those that typically offer laptop charging.

E-bike sales boom despite high prices and confusing rules (and confusing BBC articles)

Personally, I did not find it confusing in the author was clear enough in being specific where they were writing about. How much value it would be to prospective UK e bike users probably was no part of the writer intensions, but then did it need to be, along with much that is written on foreign...

General Advice for Bike Choice When Doing a Conversion

My comment however was very specifically about low speed and when not being ridden.

General Advice for Bike Choice When Doing a Conversion

One factor is handling the bike, at low speeds and when not being ridden, and both of these are affected by their centre of gravity, the higher the more negative.
