    Bikkel Bike Ibee

Hi Pieje, I don't know if you are aware, but there is a very good German pedelec forum: https://www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php But if you want to stay here and ask for recommendations, then you are very welcome. As you've found out there are some guys here with a lot of knowledge.

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

Please let us know how you get on at the bike shop. I am very curious about what is causing this problem.

Yeah fair one, well the OP has gone MIA, so he's probably fixed it by now and he's out enjoying his bike.

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

Yeah, one thing that's bugging me is the 5mm gap below the top cap. The star nut is probably another 15mm away. That's quite a reach for the top cap bolt which could possibly induce some movement. The first thing I would be doing is reducing that gap.

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

I kind of discounted worn fork bushes because I think Hitway are a new retailer of e-bikes, the OP in his first post doesn't say if he purchased the bike brand new. Although he does say he assembled it in his other thread about his REAR wheel problem. Of course there's always the possibility...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

So, on re-reading this and on second thoughts I don't think there is anything wrong with your headset or forks. You've tried a different front wheel. All fasteners are tight. All that leaves is the caliper, you need to try a different one. Also, I really do think you should just try actually...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

One more thought, you said you disassembled the headset and then put it back together. You got everything in the right order, right? You have fitted the compression ring correctly? Let me ask you this: If you tighten the top cap bolt very tight it should be very hard to turn the forks, does...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

A 5mm gap is on the large side. The top stem pinch bolt is definitely clamping the steerer and not air? I would prefer a 3mm gap, I'd be getting out my box of stem spacers and removing a spacer from beneath the stem and fitting a thinner one. What happens when you push the front wheel hard...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

Have you tried this test suggested by saneagle? "Remove the front wheel and lift the bike by the bottoms of the forks, then push back and forwards. If you can detect any movement it's normally from the headset. It can be from the fork legs (bushes), but only in old worn out forks. You can see...

Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes about 40 quid a set on eBay. Thank me later.

Does it do this when you're actually riding the bike and applying pressure to both brake levers? Are the front brake pads fitted correctly? And adjusted correctly? Welcome to the wonderful world of mechanical disk brakes.

Looking for advice on 48v battery

I would be very wary now of buying any e-bike or conversion kit without the appropriate labels/stickers. In this (15 second) clip, the police sergeant inspects what looks like a legal Hitway BK15 (36v 250w) with no dinner plate plate motor, gaffa taped batteries etc. Reading from his crib...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

I would also check the brake rotor bolts are tight and the caliper bolts (and caliper adaptor bolts) are tight. Not a bad idea to go over the whole bike making sure all the fixings are tight. Especially on a bike in a box from China. One other thing you could do is you could take the front...

Front of bike (headset or suspension) doesn't feel right

First thing is make sure the front wheel axle is fitted properly in the front fork drop-outs, then make sure the quick-release lever is tight when fully closed. Next, make sure there is a 3-5mm gap between the top of the steerer tube and the top cap. The top cap must always apply pressure to...

    For Sale Sunrunner elec tricycle

Also, I just found your ad on Gumtree, it's working fine. I would add the word "Electric" somewhere in the title, if I were you.

    For Sale Sunrunner elec tricycle

Shame I don't live next door, I could help you out but there's not much I do from here in Wiltshire. I would rather give it away than throw it in a landfill. If you could find a friend or neighbour to help you get it on eBay with no reserve price, someone in Ireland would buy it, even if they...

    For Sale Sunrunner elec tricycle

With regards to where to advertise it, most people use Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace and eBay. I would advise not advertising it with "possible slow punctures" just get them pumped up if it's been sat for a while. Also, emphasise that the battery has had not many re-charging cycles. Also use...

Could you not advertise it in the Republic? Surely they have EU rules there regarding EPAC.

    Help! My next project

Oh, for some reason I thought you were taller. I'm 6' 2" with a 34" inside leg (at least) and really feel the need for a Large frame. I had a go on a friends XL Specialised and it felt great. I think a 21" frame would suit me best, but you rarely see them (20 year old MTBs) at the prices we...
