HELMETS - but different this time

Thanks for posting this, it's very well written and has already had some interesting replies. I have family in Denmark. As explained to me their highway code gives right of way to cyclists, as a result car drivers are hyper-alert looking for cyclists at junctions etc. It also causes car drivers...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

^ @PC2017 The difference in weather is amazing considering I'm less than a days drive south of the UK. I spoke to a mate in the UK today who had just got back from sledging with his lad, over here today was the hottest day this year - the solar hot water was actually bubbling in the pipes so I...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

The Velcro straps that came with the bag soon started to mark the paintwork so I used some box section to make a bracket to hold the bag onto the bottle mountings on the seatpost. 2 bolts to hold the bracket to the frame, a piece of cork behind the bracket to protect the paintwork, quick spray...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

The pas sensor is now working properly, the temporary fixings and packing pieces can stay as they are for now, if they cause problems in the future I’ll redo them more securely. @Yak - similar would work for you?

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

The conversion from Lushui to KT was completed a while ago, and the wiring tidied up soon after. Since then I’ve been waiting for a dry day. Normally I use bikes for road commuting, today was the first decent day for months so I went out on some rural tracks. A nice ride but no use for...

    Alternatives to flipping PAS disc?

A suggestion for the Yose sensor you have - that might help you work out a solution. Remove the cableties so the sensor isn't fixed to the bike, hold the sensor so it's in line with the frame downtube, slightly above/below is ok if you need clearance. You want the end with red led and cable as...

    Alternatives to flipping PAS disc?

See photos half way down the page ;) https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/yose-350-rear-hub-kit-transplanted-onto-scott.40186/ I used a non-yose sensor as that's what I had available, I have a yose sensor on another bike but don't see any way I could reverse it if I needed to.

    Alternatives to flipping PAS disc?

Thanks for assuming I'm a wise person, wrong in this case as I tried reversing the disc and it made no difference so I removed the (old style) PAS sensor from it's bracket, flipped the sensor 180*, then spliced the old sensor wires to the "waterproof KT" harness. It's not the sensible or easy...

    Alternatives to flipping PAS disc?

I don't think you have space to rotate the sensor 180*, some older sensors are on a flat metal bracket and can be flipped by just undoing the locating screw. Which controller do you have? I think the sensor on some can be programmed to work in reverse which would fix your problem.

    36v in place of 24v

I changed a 24v bike to 36v, had to remove the 24v battery & mounting, then fit the new 36v battery and matching mounting.

    sakura electric bike need info

A good result - glad you got it sorted. For info I bought a very nice but broken bike as a project to keep me occupied, it is now working well but it took a lot of time to fix all the problems. The original batteries were very poor and had to be changed as they went flat in less than 5 miles...

    Gravel bike conversion

Hydraulic brakes - how do you plan to connect the brake cutouts? I guess the battery options are downtube or a frog fitting? Any thoughts? What size are your rims? 26"/700c rims are common, I was told 29er rims were same diameter as 700c but wider (but I've not confirmed) Not relevant if you go...

Decathlon Riverside 500 e price increase

Supply & demand, even before the January 1st problems the prices of bikes / e-bikes had jumped a lot due to lockdown demand. Since Jan 1st add import taxes / customs charges etc...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

I'm running this at 36V for now, but I'd like to try 48V at some point (getting another battery will also mean I have a complete Yose kit spare - and I have plans for that when the time comes ;)) Interesting about 36/48V controllers with a flat 48V battery restarting as a fully charged 36V but...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

It took a while to get everything together but I’m using the 22A controller I got from you last year. All was good on a quick test ride :) Shame I’ve not had the chance to see how it works on a run due to weather. One downside of a nice bike is that every time I take it out I spend more time...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

@PC2017 I got the tyres from Curio and prices were supercheap (£10 each?), I like them a lot. No punctures and they ride very fast - so less battery used on a trip! They are ideal for the routes I use but will have no grip off-road, horses for courses... I've been using the Yose bag and it was...

For Sale: RadRhino 750w Fat-tyre electric bike (excellent condition)

^ @Nealh no argument from me. I thought it surprising the hire shops don't keep 250W bikes but the (well respected) sales shop keeps nothing but 250W. And yes, the area has a high population of Brit tourisits and ex-pats.

Help! Lishui controller and LCD vs KT controller and LCD

I recently swapped my Yose kit from Lushui to KT - not too difficult if you can solder. Remember you need heat shrink on any exposed joints. Remove built-in Lushui controller, desolder the controller wires from the battery plate and replace with longer leads to the new KT controller :)

For Sale: RadRhino 750w Fat-tyre electric bike (excellent condition)

I looked at a couple of Ebike hire shops in Portugal last year as I was thinking about renting something, both shops had bikes starting at 500W and going up, I asked about 250W bikes and got told previous customers always complained they were too slow / underpowered hence shops didn't rent them...
