    Trouble fitting front disc brake

I've not used them myself but some cable operated disk brake calipers look quite slim. It's not ideal but as a temporary fix it might be ok?

    Anti-rotation Washers

There are a few UK stockists including bankrupt bike parts (ebay or amazon) http://www.ebaystores.co.uk/bankrupt-bike-parts/Parts-and-Components-/_i.html?search-btn=&_nkw=forks& also wiggle https://www.wiggle.co.uk/cycle/forks What happened? If you let folk know how it failed, it might help...

    Trouble fitting front disc brake

I've had a look at the Shimano calipers on my bikes, one is 18mm the other 16mm. Just a thought - if you fit a larger disk that would move the caliper away from the axle, maybe to a narrower part of the hub - ie more space for the caliper.

    Price impact of the "deal"?

For info, Yose have recently added info to their Ebay adverts "we have UK EU warehouse,we can send it from EU or UK" so I guess they're doing whatever they have done in the past - they are still advertising free postage https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ysbattery-2012

Basic question with hopefully a simple answer

Systems need at least the display and the controller to talk to each other, one of these 36V systems will work with any capacity 36V battery. Yose are in this category. Other systems need the display, controller and battery to communicate with each other so it's more difficult to fit an...

Good hardtail bike to convert rear hub ebike?

I have fitted rear hub motors to 2 "modern" alloy frames mountainbikes, advise you check how deep the rear dropouts are. Both of mine had quite shallow dropouts - making it difficult to stop the axle rotating under full power. Adding a torque arm is a good choice but finding a bike with deeper...

What does your bike do with low battery?

I've not tried many but every one I had behaved differently A tired old 24v system would cut out under heavy load (up a hill), turn it off/on and it would show it still had 50% power. A basic 36v system had 3 led's, the first went out before 50%, 2nd went out not long after, last LED stayed on...

Help! To sell bike or get it fixed up?

Hi, just for info - I was very happy to pick up an older non-working electric bike a few months ago to use as a base for a new project. There's no harm in advertising your bike on here as there's a good chance someone will be willing to spend time fixing it up or maybe using some of the working...

    Price impact of the "deal"?

@MikelBikel interesting video, thanks. I have a lot of experience working with businesses of all sizes when they need to change their computer systems. Complicated projects often take years (everyone involved needs to agree what changes are needed, the changes are then made, everything is...

    Front suspension for my ebike

Glad you found the info useful - I spent as long time looking around the web and their prices were always a bargain ( the choice is limited but you should be able to find something that will work for you). I got a CR-8 (basic Suntour 700C with adjustable preload, about £20) and it's ideal to...

    Front suspension for my ebike

I bought new suspension forks a few months ago, lots of bargains at "Bankrupt Bike Parks" (on Amazon or Ebay). I got basic Suntour suspension forks for £25 and they make the bike a lot nicer. Recommended...

    Price impact of the "deal"?

A separate topic but very closely related - a friend runs a shipping company (mainly single pallets UK to / from Europe) and he is concerned that he will have to put his costs up significantly. The issue for him isn't deal / no-deal, it is that we are leaving the European Customs Union. Once UK...

Kemp Starley Dutch Town Bike - out of hibernation.

I then spent a rather pleasant afternoon with beers and music, lacing my 27” rim & spokes onto her hub. Part-way through my first wheel build :p The finished wheel :) The wheel was fairly straight once the spokes were nipped up, the final truing took a while but I'm very happy with the end...

Kemp Starley Dutch Town Bike - out of hibernation.

I’m now back and working on this again. My plans changed a bit when I got offered a basic 36v kit. It's a rather sad story as a good friend had paid somebody to convert her bike - what she got was an incomplete and mismatched conversion - including a new 26” electric mountainbike wheel fitted to...

Oh I seem to have messed up!

See photo for a close-up of my diy torque arm (the white piece) - which doubles up as the support for my luggage rack. Some good info on earlier threads https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threadloom/search?query=torque%20arm&tab=3750 More photos about the bike (& rack mountings etc)...

Oh I seem to have messed up!

Hi, I'm fairly new to conversions but managed to fit a Yose rear kit to an alloy frame, and today I removed the kit and started to fit it to a different alloy frame. Both frames needed to be stretched slightly. What worked for me - loosen the disk brake caliper (if fitted) so you can...

New Tongsheng mid drive kit won't power up

Glad things are progressing - it's always good to hear how companies handle problems so thanks for the update. Just for info, I friend arranges a lot of shipping to / from Europe and is making everyone aware that the extra admin needed after Dec 31st will cause a lot of disruption. He is...

New Tongsheng mid drive kit won't power up

The meter is working fine and shows the charger and fuse are ok, now you know how to use a meter will be very useful ! When you plug the charger into the mains the light should go green. Then connect the battery and it should go red until fully charged - then it goes green again. Does your...

New Tongsheng mid drive kit won't power up

Hi, I got a complete kit (similar - but rear wheel) from PSW power and found them helpful, but I've not needed their warranty returns. For the multimeter, suggest you get used to it by practicing with a small battery (from a torch / TV-remote etc?), anything you have handy, 1.5 volt AA or 9...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - onto Spanish mtb by Mondraker

Just to update the thread I returned to the uk and it took less than a week before I decided to go back to Portugal. The bike is still running fine and recently passed 1500kms (since fitting the kit in June), now I’m looking forward to the last bits of my convert-to-KT kit that should be here...
