Prototype / ex demo / ex display, end of season sale.

Out dated wheel size, cable operated brakes, zero component spec or brand of components used, no bike weight, all of which set alarm bells ringing and automatically make the bike overpriced by £500.00 and that perhaps is being kind. For just £50.00 more, you can a get a branded eMTB, with 5...

News: Momentum Electric launch VIT-S on Kickstarter

Coming in at nearly 21kg, it is close to the weight of an off the shelf full suspension eMTB. I'm also struggle to see why a road bike would need that much torque. The final nail in the coffin is the 4k price tag.

So long as you only drink bottled water and not tap, all is good. :) We also have plenty of fly tipping, and poachers. I frequently come across odd torch lights in the local woods, generally they are either blue, or red. Sometimes you startle someone that might have a few terriers with them...

    Full Suspension or Not?

To say the above, you appear to have no knowledge or concept of European riding conditions, particularly during winter months. Either that, or correct and regular maintenance isn't high on your list of priorities. Nonsense, it isn't.

Nealh, I had the same issues with mud today. I think that the combination of autumn leaves and the partially frozen mud, made for a very bad mix. :(

The bridge and the photos below, are all set within the 500 acres of private woodland that I have recently been given permission to ride in. The area used to be a series of five mill ponds, records I believe only show three, and the flour for queen Victoria's wedding cake was ground at the...

As usual Chris, well done. :) I sneaked out this afternoon for a quick ride and walk around some of the new playground. I was actually surprised by how frozen that a lot of the ground was. It opened up a couple of opportunities to try to ride across sections that would normally be impassable...

    haibike tyre

Funny how you can change you mind; I've opted for something completely different on the hard tail. :) A set of Bontrager SE4 Team Issue TLR. 27.5" x 2.20 on the rear 27.5" x 2.35 on the front I didn't see that one coming! .

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

@redalexx From sitting on the fence watching this thread, and to quote what you have stated. In the space of 557 days (80 weeks) a total of 260,069 motors have been produced, which equals 3,268 motors per week, based upon a five day working week, or 654 Motors per day. Based upon the above...

    haibike tyre

It is hard to say on tyre choice, as it is very much dependant upon what your riding terrain is. I try to take in as little road as is possible, so my tyre choice is always off road biased. WTB vigilante were fantastic off road and in muddy conditions, and seem to come highly recommended for...

Sadly like all the best plans, I doubt that I can now make it. Oddly I had also been thinking of Chanctonbury. I still intend heading out at some stage during the day, but it'll probably end up being a trip somewhere around Ashdown Forest. Not quite the same! :(

Sambal I'm starting to hate you!!! :D Another stunning location to ride. :) I had a very good ride tonight with my regular riding buddy, and took in a few places that would normally be deep in mud at this time of year and unrideable. The fallen leaves are proving to be a nuisance in that it is...

Small day ride off road, may not be me riding :)

Listed today. Fabio is certainly up there with the best of them. :) I love the snow on the ground. Crazy!!

Gringo has linked to a suspension seat post, which is possibly the best way to gain comfort from a hardtail. A few things. If you haven't already done so, here is a set up guide for the front forks. http://www.srsuntour-cycling.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Downloads/Consumer/Bike/Owners...

There is always plenty of both sheep and cows, and it is an impossibility not to get the bike covered in their poo. :( Yesterday again. And one from a previous trip. Weather permitting, I might well venture back down there again this coming Wednesday. :) .

Ahh!!! That must have been the shot that Gubbins had been trying to shield me from! :) Certainly amazing views. :) This is the last of the lot from yesterday. Spot the schoolboy error with this one! I'd be interested to learn what the axle came from on the left of this shot. Sadly you...

Is it worth trying hybrid tyres.

The Marathon Plus MTB tyres seem to have had good reviews on Chain Reaction, and at least they will offer very good puncture resistance. A big plus point during the winter months. I was going to suggest Racing Ralphs, but these are a big risk, in that they are very puncture prone, and might not...

    New to the scene

Thank you kindly Steed. Yep they are all my own work. :) The totem pole shaped sculpture stands out of the ground by 3.6 metres and is 200mm x 200mm square. It took me 60 hours to make, and no power tools were used. Bacho kind of sponsored the making of it, by providing me with a box of various...

Nice one Chris, perfect weather again for you. :) I thought that I would grab the chance to get an early start on the South Downs this morning. 34.7 miles, a disappointing elevation gain of 3,773ft and checking range, 25 miles for the first battery. It was a pretty cold ride, but at least the...
