Yes there is also the xtracycle sidecar: I'm however not sure it's going to work really well.. And doesn't look very safe either! Flecc, why is it illegal to have someone standing on a small scooter, and legal to have someone standing on a tricycle?

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

Yes, london tube is incredibly expensive. Last year I was living in Zone 4. Which cost about 160GBP/month travel fare with the oyster card. Now I'm in central london Zone 2, and it's still at 120GBP/month. An expensive ebike can be refunded in 1 or 2 years time. And I save a lot of time too.

Yes I'm probably the same one you saw 3 years ago... When I didn't have an ebike yet :) I've always been thinking of getting a cargo or tandem bike. But in london it would be really difficult to park/store. If the tandam is small enough to fit in a lift I'd be glad to hear more about it

No I'm not going to take the tube/bus instead, it's slow, crowded and expensive... and I can't give them a bike for free if they don't want to invest on it :/ What about the sidehack? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151249790239 www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jeDhP1Hz2w I'm...

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

It just different friends. Currently the pattern is that whenever we want to go somewhere, I take my bike while other will take the bus/tube. It's a broken journey and I'd prefer to be able to carry them rather than me waiting for them until they arrive by bus/tube

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

Yes, the only problem is that I live in a small flat and there's no way I take it home. Not sure if I'll manage to charge it or park it anywhere in central london

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

I'm running my BPM sensored. I tried to run it sensorless too and it also stresses the gears. I can clearly hear the gears slipping if I put full power on start. That's really annoying that's why I'm thinking of maybe getting a DD at 10KW

Guys, I already had an electric brompton (stolen) and now I'm using my electric dahon jetstream: I really love this bike. But I'd like to be able to carry a passenger from time to time. And also more torque. Hence the scooter.

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

It's a cheap controller from alibaba. I asked for a mod to accept 48-72V range

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

The problem is that I'm living in a small flat in central london. So there is no way I can bring up a full size scooter inside the flat. I could potentially leave it on the street... but I'd have problems charging it as well as parking it..

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

I'm putting 72V35A on my bpm and it clearly stresses the gears on start point. It's ok passed the start point and works fine.

Is licensing, tax and insurance expensive? I can easily overvolt the motor to increase power if required.. 2 people standing on the scooter should be cool isn't it?

Hello there, Have you seen this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/1000W-48V-Powerboard-Black-C9316/dp/B00FOUK056/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=1RCBJ1ZV8DZ1RPN5FQT8 It may be a good alternative to the brompton as it can be really compact. It would fit under any desk and should be easily hidden...
