I often go from the mid way point to an "Oh crap can I make it home" seemingly in no time at all. The level also jumps in seconds from one a half bars remaining to the dreaded red warning triangle with one mile of indicated range showing.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Bebbe, you will be smiling all the way up. :) When is the bike arriving? Is that so that you can see to pick up the bits that fall off the Haibike? :D Just get out and ride. I'm out three to four late evening/night rides a week with just a one cree light. Grow some and get out! :p It'll...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

It's not so much the extra speed that you will notice, although clearly it will be faster. In my opinion the thing that is more crucial, is that you will get so much more torque to be able to power through muddy sections, with relative ease. The motor makes a clear and massive difference to...

    Exploding handlebars !

This thread reminds me of something that I did many years ago. Short version of incident.. One night a pikey tried to take my pickup truck from our driveway. I caught him, and it ended up with me giving chase, and being run down by his car as he tried to escape. Police were called, and traced...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Looking at the time stamp of the clip, was this another police camera action/crime watch clip. You really need to get away faster than that, if you are hoping to escape. When are we going to see a night time off road/mud riding clip?

Sorry John, I went to edit my post, but cocked it up! To others, I had basically said that it isn't possible to give a fair and accurate measure of distance/range, as there are too many variables, but if a potential buyer was to walk into a shop and be told that a reasonably fit 75kg...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I was really surprised that the clipless set up would have made any difference, as I have never consciously pulled on the up stroke, but clearly have been, given how my foot kept lifting. I'd thought that it was just one those BS comments given by road riders, but it seems not. Popping off to...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

That's an impressive light. I went off the idea of fitting a helmet light, as I'm all to often riding in places that have low hanging branches, and I'm quite regularly receiving gentle wacks to the top of the cycle helmet. I grabbed a mid morning chance to ride on the South Downs today. It was...

Is a removable display a must? Which models have them?

Rohlffboy, rather than having you derail yet another thread with questions that aren't relevant, why not start your own thread. Back on topic. BH also have removal console displays. The Panasonic system might also be removable, but I can't confirm that until after getting the next bike...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

My current pedal hardtail mtb has put up with everything that I can throw at it. I've had a set of forks replaced under warranty via SRAM, but that could have happened to any bike. The battery case is pretty exposed, so knocking that could be an issue in the event of the bike falling side ways...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I really loved the e- cross P when I rode one last year, and my heart will always be for hub drive bikes, and this is the bike of choice. An E-race P I tend to put in a few more road miles to link routes in the winter, and the combination of being hub drive, a hard tail, and utilizing larger...

How to replace an e-bike tube without removing the wheel.

People still use inner tubes. And even before that. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/stating-the-obvious-tubes.17863/#post-220588

It is a meaningless question, and one that has in the past made me wonder about just how truthful that people are being when they state the battery range that they are regularly achieving. On one ride alone this year in the Swiss alps, I pretty much flattened the Bosch performance line's 400wh...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I'm in the camp of riding an mtb rain or shine, and in any conditions. There is way too much fun to be had in the mud, and it's something that any decent mtb is designed for. I'd also not let the more frequent cost of replacing a £15.00 chain put me off either. Riding off road in dry conditions...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

It's quite a climb from the bottom of the A27. I didn't notice if you rode along this track towards or from that point. This stop was to repair a flat on my mates bike, I've wrecked two tubes on the same track, and have seen two other riders also repairing punctures whilst riding it. The...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Nice ride. Oddly I thinking that if I hadn't been working today, I'd have fancied the South Downs. You missed a very good wooded section down by the University Of Sussex. Fast and sweeping. I hate the SD Way, but there are some superb well hidden bridleways. Knee complaint aside, I decided to...

    Haibike Sduro engine mounting bolts

In your defence, and if I'm reading it correctly, the outer nuts are of pretty poor quality and are like cheese. I had nothing but trouble with mine on the old Haibike, until I swapped out to some better quality nuts from a 1980's Raleigh that was being scrapped. It cured the problem straight away.

    Haibike Sduro engine mounting bolts

I check both the pedal cranks and motor mount bolts quite frequently, although a slight creaking sound is always a give away that they need looking at. It's just comes down to regular and preventative maintenance again.

Looking for a reliable long range bike

When I first looked at the route, I thought WoW! Then I sat and thought about it, and it's only impressive if you are either not able-bodied, or were riding it on a conventional pedal bike. Somehow riding any great distance on a pedelec doesn't have the same impact or kudos. Hate to say it, but...
