    Brompton electrification

Yeah, so far I'm quite pleased with the motor. He can handle so many amps/volt without breaking a sweat :D But the drag is terrible, had to cycle once without battery it was really hard. Not sure yet about efficiency, need a CA for that. I'm looking for an inline fuse holder that could...

    Any ideas how come?

Danger has also a huge impact on people not going on bikes. I know many people that are interested in my electric bike but would never ride it because cycling is really dangerous in London. Just had a small car accident because the driver wasn't looking when he turned left. Broke my brompton...

    Security of bikes...how nickable?

Frank, the Kryptonite Faghetaboutit has been tested with other locks and has the highest security score: Locks that work - London Fixed-gear and Single-speed On the test, they took 3 mn to cut through it and needed 2 discs to do that. (1 was killed in the process) Shouldn't that be strong enough?

    Security of bikes...how nickable?

Thanks for your answer. I'm not planning to lock it overnight but sometime I go out and I need to park the bike outside for few hours. So maybe a kryptonite D-lock on the frame + a cable lock to secure the wheels should be enough? The Fahgettaboudit mini lock seems to have good review...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Jerry, how much did you pay for the motor? If the controller is not build in, maybe I can aim for 20mph with some overvoltage? Thinking of maybe getting a lightweight version of my bike :)

    Security of bikes...how nickable?

I'm thinking about locking my brompton outside. Need something quite strong but not too heavy at the same time. What about just using the Kryptonite U-lock? Kryptonite New York M18 Lock | Evans Cycles Or shall I go for a super heavy 5.5 kg chain lock? Kryptonite New York...

    Brompton electrification

This is a 45 amps controller at 74V. So probably around 3000W lol Not sure however, the CA is not compatible I have to find a way to measure the current and speed to have my idea clear. Not sure either if I'm at 25-30 mph as it look much faster on small wheel. Will tell everyone as soon as I know

    Brompton electrification

Guys, I may have found my connectors: 5x pairs MPX connector plug 24K gold 6-pin 40A RC LiPo | eBay Really small, and able to handle 40amps. There is a good area to glue them together, maybe I can even have only 1 plug!

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Yeah I agree with you. The problem is that I'll use the motor on a 16 inch wheel. So at 260RPM it's around 12-13 mph. And I can't really overvolt it as the controller is inside the motor and will be limited to 36V...

    Brompton electrification

Yes, I'm planning to have another connector for the phase and the batteries plugs. Something such as a 5 pins 45A connector. But I have a lot of connections for the controller: - Cycle analyst direct plug : 6 pins - Brake: 4 pins - Hall sensors: 5 pins - Throttle: 3 pins - Regen: (don't know...

Thanks Laroche. I'm also thinking about a lightweight bike. But damn 12 mph would kill me.. Too bad it's so restricted.

    Brompton electrification

I'm thinking about moving all my connectors from my controller to an unique connector: D-SUB 37 Pin Female Solder DB37 Type Connector x 10 Pcs | eBay Could work for everything except for the batteries. So I'd have this multiplug connector + batteries/phase wires connectors together. Would that...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Thanks for the feedback Laroche. So no controller needed? It's integrated with the motor? I'm wondering if there is any way to increase the RPM? I suppose at 260RPM on 16" wheel, the bike would be really slow (around 10 mph)

    Best Folding E Bike

Thanks for this explaination Flecc. So for hills and stop&go we have: - Crank drive > Geared motor > Direct drive motors And for the opposite, just straight road we have: - Direct drive > Geared motor > crank drive Still not completely convinced by crank drive, if there is any issue on the...
