    Bike Forks?

Don't worry, I really love the BH and it never fails to put a smile on my face when I ride it. Sadly it has just been the poor back up service that tarnished what should have been an easy to resolve issue. Still it's thankfully sorted now. The problem with my forks could even possibly be unique...

    Chain rings and crank drives

I've just spotted that the Bosch motor has a walk mode! I could have done with that yesterday, and also on several other occasions over the last month. :D

    Bike Forks?

The bike finally goes in on Friday for it's replacements forks, so hopeffuly on Saturday, I can then remove them and fit the Rockshox. I wouldn't have bothered with the replacements, but it might be handy in the future to shove a pair of new originals on if I decide to ever sell the bike on. In...

    Chain rings and crank drives

Thanks Martin, your input as usual is very helpful. I reckon that I need to find/make the time to come down to see you. :) edit.. The bike shown was only an example, albeit a very stunning one. I only need approx. 150mm max of travel up front. :)

Availability of electric bike parts in the UK

The issue here is that "average Joe" isn't going to be on this forum to ask. We are all converts and can see the advantage or ease of use that a pedal assist bike has to offer. It always fascinates me the way that the general conversation goes with a non e-bike owning person. AJ..Is that an...

    Chain rings and crank drives

So there is an internal unit gearbox similar to that of a motorcycle, with the gear change located on the handle bar? If so, does this not add/create drag* to the system? I'm just concerned that if I do eventually decide to change to a crank drive motor, that my on road enjoyment will in some...

    Chain rings and crank drives

Something struck me yesterday whilst out riding off road. In the 5 months or so of owning the Xtrem, yesterday was the first time that I have used the granny ring. This in turn made me think about crank drive motors, and the fact that in the case of something like the Haibike below, the...

    Brand New Sky

I'm another that likes the Powabyke. :) I've yet to see one in flesh so to speak, but from photos they look like they are built to last, in a Land Rover kind of way. I recently had an 'as new' example of a Powabyke in my Ebay watch list and kicked myself when I missed the end of the auction...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Nice one Gringo. :) The weather looks good, and a ride on hard packed gravel actually sounds very appealing and sensible. Enjoy. :)

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

Like dogs round a bone, or certainly one person is. I'm well and truly hooked on my off road riding, and have now pretty much outgrown the BH. I've been looking at alternatives, and I think that it's going to be Haibike all the way. The one product that I have not looked at and won't is KTM. I...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

The railway sleeper in front stopped all forward motion. But this is what finally finished me off! Despite trying very hard, I just couldn't get up this hill.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Where is everyone? The threads gone very quiet. I was out again today and did the hardest 35miles that I have ever done. As expected it was incredibly muddy, but the mileage between the 26mile point and the 30 mile point really did finish me off a sit was almost un rideable and pushing 21kg of...

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

I wonder how something like this would fit into the required spec. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Haibike-eQ-XDURO-Trekking-SL-HR-RGr-52-27-G-SRAM-Elektrofahrrad-Bosch-400WH-NEU-/271368099567?pt=Sport_Radsport_Fahrrad_Anh%C3%A4nger&hash=item3f2ecc96ef

Availability of electric bike parts in the UK

Everyone is out to save money, and given that without any discount, bikes from say Germany can be purchased retail at the same price in euros as they can here in pounds, there is quite an end user saving to be made. If a deal could be struck with sellers, there must be bigger savings to be made...

    Haibike Xduro Race

Thanks Hugh, there is some very interesting bikes listed by Fahrrad Becker. :) http://stores.ebay.de/Fahrrad-Becker-Lemgo/E-Bike-Pedelec-/_i.html?_fsub=9&_sid=126571242&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 Ebay Germany certainly has a lot of Haibikes to choose from. :) .

Availability of electric bike parts in the UK

That was what I was thinking. Not from China, but from the rest of Europe. Bring in mainstream 'grey import' bikes. It worked for cars and motorcycles, so perhaps it could work for electric bicycles as well. The service could be offered to potential clients that like the idea of saving money on...

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

I'd do more than just try it. Insist that you do your full ride on it in both direction. After all without knowing anything about your age or fitness level, KTM have claimed that you can carry out your journey with ease using 400%power mode.

Certainly goes to prove that it's a buyers market out there. I can almost smell the desperation. ;)

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

Speaking from personal experience, I'd stay away from BH. Nice bikes until you need warranty work carried out, then you might as well be on your own. I'm not alone when it comes to banging your head against the wall when it comes to BH products.
