Just ordered a Badass for a Stupid Ass

Upon sober reflection (key word 'sober'), I have decided not to tempt the gods. I like being 70, and 71 might be worth looking forward to. More power to @soundwave; I wish I were 40 years younger and could join him on his suicide outings. :)

Just ordered a Badass for a Stupid Ass

I hate to sound like a dumb ass, (which I am), but what do you mean by 'move the wheel magnet'?

Just ordered a Badass for a Stupid Ass

Do I need the tuning adaptor? What do I need to do to stay within the law? I already have insurance. And a POC helmet.

    Cube or Moustache?

German-made, or French-made? When was the last time the Germans went on strike, and when was the last time the French weren't on strike? Who do you really want making your investment?

    Any Badasses?

How difficult is it to install?

    Any Badasses?

Is anyone using the Badass dongle? If so, what are your thoughts? I might be too old to get one, though I'm very interested. I'm not sure I'd survive a tumble at 70. Hell of a way to go, though.

    E-Bike for Short Adult Size 4'10" / 147Cm. Advice

You have to physically sit on the bike and check your fit before committing to anything. It's too easy to think that a manufacturer's guidelines will apply to you.

    Ridiculous battery prices

Until there are as many e-bikes as there are electric cars the prices will continue to remain high. Supply vs demand. Manufacturing costs for a limited sales return.

    Transporting E-bikes are a nightmare!

We don't use the word "cripple" where I live. We use "gimp", or the more fashionable, "water-head".

For Sale A couple of goodies... Completed

I have for your consideration two items that I cannot use on my bike, but may be of interest. The bell in the photo is sold by Pashley, and is, in my opinion, the absolutely best ding-dong bell ever made. It is loud, clear, crisp, and attention-getting. I would not be offering this to the...

Riese & Muller Charger NuVinci Electric Bike?

I have the R&M Charger GT Nuvinci for over a year and not had a single blip from the Gates/Nuvinci 380 duo. The only thing I would say is that the bike weighs in at 24kg, so it isn't the lightest bike to haul upstairs, but then I'm an old fart, and you might be young enough to pull it off.

Wear Yellow Jacket for SAFETY......? and get assaulted or Jailed!

There are other options for Hi-Viz -- blue and red being the most common, but I'd not worry about it too much. Anyone seeing you wearing a yellow Hi-Viz vest on an expensive electric bike will naturally assume you're a rich Jewish banker, or media mogul. Enjoy the celebrity.

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??

I would never buy an ordinary road bike, but I do find myself sometimes thinking about a dongle.

    Came off today ouch!

I'm glad to hear that nothing was broken. I've gone down a couple of times (due to not being on a bike in 60 years), so I know the feeling of relief when everything is still in place.

    Real Bicycle Bells

Pashley make the best "ding-dong" bell. £15 for a big 'un, £10 for a girlie bell from their website.

Did I buy the right size bike?

I got the 49cm frame for my R-M; I was told by a dealer to get the 53cm frame for a Cube I was considering. My R-M feels a bit big, but I didn't think the smallest frame size would have been correct. I'm also 5'11" with a 32" inseam. That's the bitch of buying on-line.

    Everything starts with an E

There is nothing about a pedelec that is affordable. Just bite the bullet and get the best bike you can. I think trying to reinvent the wheel is a fool's errand. Unless you have that Master's degree in electrical engineering.
