    Everything starts with an E

Great thread title. Everything else was way above my pay grade.

    Cleaning and Lubrication?

I've got a "Muck Off" cleaning kit, with brushes and micro-cloths. It seems to do the trick.

    Attitudes of non-ebikers

Marry in haste, rue at leisure. If I hadn't had my wife buy her bike first, I never would have been allowed to get my Charger. He should remind his wife of the riddle, 'How many men does it take to change the light in the kitchen? None. Let her cook in the dark.'

    Newbie Riese and Muller

Same-Same. Not mechanically oriented, so less maintenance on my part the better. Thudbuster is great.

I couldn't be happier with mine; like you I'd opt for the dual batteries, too.

Ahh -- chicken and the egg.

R&M 'See and Be Seen' campaign

Wearing an all black wardrobe and relying only on a headlight and taillight is not going to guarantee your survival on a dark and stormy night. To be honest, I would be deathly afraid to cycle at night under those conditions, but I'm old and don't bounce off the pavement very well any more.

R&M 'See and Be Seen' campaign

My wife (native Brit) is always warning me that no matter if the cyclist has no tail light, head light, riding a black bike and wearing all black, if I hit them in my car I am the one going to prison. It doesn't seem right that if a person refuses to take personal responsibility for their...

R&M 'See and Be Seen' campaign

Easy -- I'm nearly 70 and anyone 50+ years younger than I am wearing a hoodie and dressed entirely in black on a bike at night is rightly characterized as a yob.

R&M 'See and Be Seen' campaign

Why would a company like Riese & Mueller have a new safety "See and Be Seen" campaign featuring a yob clad all in black?

    Riese & Muller Supercharger “surging”

My R&M Charger GT is just about perfect. It's never surged.

    Cycle insurance

Whoa! I don't know where you live, but I live in a small parish outside of Ringwood -- nothing but bungalows and septuagenarians. The last incidence of anti-social behaviour was seven years ago when some yobs stomped on some daffodils growing on a neighbour's verge.

    New eBikes and cyclists

I think a lot of the Charger GT's geometry is adapted to the tires. I wouldn't have anything less.

    Attitudes of non-ebikers

Your friends seem to be what normal people call "Lycra Louts", what other cyclists call "arrogant and ignorant", and what Texans call "ass holes". Just enjoy being a Pedelecer.

Cyclists claim they are being cheated from top spots on Strava by e-bike users

It doesn't matter how many leader boards they have, I'll never be on any of them. To paraphrase Arlo Guthrie (c. 1969) 'I don't want a pickle. Just want to ride my e-bicycle.'

    New eBikes and cyclists

I have the Charger GT Nuvinci with the 49cm frame. It's a tad large for me, too, but I love it.

Are Ebikes more or less vulnerable to theft than standard bikes?

I think the difference between a 4-pound ordinary bike, and a 50-pound e-bike says it all.

Global warming,is it just the cycles of the earth

I think there may be too many 'gender fluid' members as it is. Just stay the sweet lass that you are.

To be precise, it's 'Him', not 'him'. :)
