Wanted Left thumb throttle (paddle/thumb-shifter style) for Bafang BBS drive

Thanks but I should've been more specific; I'm after a paddle style, as in the side-specific version that looks like a thumb shifter

Wanted Left thumb throttle (paddle/thumb-shifter style) for Bafang BBS drive

As per the title. Anyone got one they’re not using and fancy selling?

Buy a cargo bike now or get a hybrid & move up in 2-3 years?

A really good question, and there are undoubtedly a few people who’ve spent big on a cargo bike and never fully realised its potential. Also worth considering that many people find they can and want to do more and more with their cargo bikes, as good ones are astonishingly capable and versatile...

Help needed...TSDZ2 on Carrera Vengeance. M5 bolts too short.

As @vidtek says, or if you’ve a local independent hardware/fixings seller you may be able to buy just a couple rather than a bag of 10-20. You’ll need spacers of the appropriate length or you could distort the mounting plate and potentially damage your BB

    Great UK BBS02 supplier.

Reasonably confident the one I got is legit. Difficulty is that if the sku is for the domestic market, i.e. another Chinese distributor or reseller, the labelling will likely be different to that for export markets. What issues might someone encounter with a drive that wasn't assembled by Bafang?

    Great UK BBS02 supplier.

Can't say I'm aware of any BBS copies/clones in circulation and couldn't find any reference to them with a quick search. That's not to say they don't exist but I'm not sure the cost of cloning something as complex as a mid-drive would be a particularly profitable enterprise. Have you heard...

Great buying experience from Eclipse Bikes

This felt worth sharing as recently ordered an EM3EV battery pack from Eclipse Bikes and was genuinely impressed with the service and the product. Rob is helpful and happy to answer questions, with both pre and post-sales communications being spot on. As soon as the pack arrived I got an email...

    Great UK BBS02 supplier.

Similar experience with a BBSHD order; everything that should be in the box was there, plus a light I wasn't expecting. Saad also has spares available that aren't listed on the site so if you need any extras (sensor extension cables etc.) email him before ordering as he may well have them. He's...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

The pack has a bluetooth BMS and will balance at >50% charge. Was thinking more about longer term cell health and not having to check the BMS to see when it hits 90%.

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

Went with the EM3EV from Eclipse Bikes. Taking a slight hit on range but should be sufficient for my needs if I drop the current slightly. Said as if I know what I'm talking about but I've never tweaked the settings in a BBS, but am assured it's doable and that I can achieve a happy medium of...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

I was tempted by that pack and think it may just fit in the frame (Yuba Mundo with quite a compact triangle) but due to both access to power and temperatures in the bike shed I have to remove the pack for charging. Shame, as otherwise I'd fix it into the frame with hose clamps and never have to...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

Very best of luck to them. She was definitely trying her best to help so can't fault them on that. As you say though, stronger product knowledge would be good, and I'm not willing to take a chance on an unknown. I may ask Electron Cycles if they've any internal pics of their current packs but...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

Helpful, thank you. And yes, had absolutely planned to dial it back in settings; programming cable arrived this morning, just waiting for the drive. I've no interest at all in monster power or quarterly drivetrain swaps so was thinking 20A max. Want to run it as lean and cool as I can. EM3EV...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

Thanks for that. Just called, and while they were very nice and did their best to help I got the impression they'd no idea what's inside it. They did send the pic below, which shows Samsung 33G cells. This older thread suggests a revision to cell chemistry was pending but no idea what version is...

52V downtube packs: EM3EV 35E vs Electron 21700 vs other?

Got a 52V BBSHD on the way but yet to order a battery pack. Would appreciate first hand insight on two packs I've shortlisted, or recommendations for alternatives of comparable spec and quality from UK sellers which are in stock. Must be lockable downtube styles as has to be removed from bike...

File these silly angles off my dropout? How risky is it lol

Wouldn't recommend it. Your dropouts are cast pieces, with those ridges amounting to a collection of connected triangles for strength and rigidity. You might get away with it, or you may find that after a few good hits you see cracks starting at the point you've filed into as the loads no longer...

Anyone ordered from Deruiz via Amazon?

Yep, well aware of the general approach to sales over there, though to be fair some do seem to try to play it straight. The Amazon sales channel model essentially puts it into a UK outlet, so no additional VAT, but turns out that's not the case with Deruiz so probably won't chance it. I've had...

    Choosing a battery for Tongsheng 48v 750w

I hadn't got that far, and no idea what the going rate is for a used TSDZ2. Let me have a think and I'll get back to you. I need to check the forum rules for selling too as don't want to break form

    Choosing a battery for Tongsheng 48v 750w

Goods from Germany coming into the UK - from any seller - are still subject to VAT and processing costs if the seller hasn't registered with HMRC and dealt with the other shenanigans. You might get away with it, you might not. I've had orders for several hundred quid's worth of stuff sail...

Anyone ordered from Deruiz via Amazon?

Thanks for that. The Deruiz offering is still £60 cheaper than the cheapest UK option though. Should also be free of import issues, though waiting for confirmation on that. Most stuff through Amazon's international sales channel seems to get through without issue. And good find on the used one...
