If you're riding a lot of hills, i'd stick with the mid drive of the Prime. Just for info...... the Giant Roam XRE can be had for £1,353 from Rutland Cycles. Only in medium size tho.

Obviously gearing is subjective and will equate to personal needs..... I probably wouldn't need a CD motor anyway. I dont do serious off road with a MTB and as its fairly flat where i live, the torque of CD's isn't that needed. Been interesting to hear about how the gearing works on them anyway...

So that would equate to 55T chain ring ?...... Nah thats getting a bit too high now. The gearing on my road bike suits me ok, 52 on the front & 11-32 rear..... but i have no Ekit fitted on that. Yet !

A 38T equivalent chain ring still wouldn't be high enough gearing for me..... Admittedly i ride mainly on the road and its pretty flat where i live, so i like higher gearing anyway.

Ah i'm getting it now, i didn't realise these Bosch motors work like that. So if its a 16T chain ring that effectively goes up 2.5 times...... That would equate to a 38T chain ring ?

That goes right over my head..... I have a 48T chain ring and i can spin out on that.

I still cant get my head around how tiny the chain ring is on these Bosch motors. It must spin out all the time, especially if you were to ride without power !! I dont get it..... Does it work differently in some way ?

I wonder how much more that bike would be if it was black & orange ? Whats the CX motor all about..... is that a newer more powerful Bosch mid drive ?

On the now rare occasions i decide to look in this thread..... it always seems to be like an extraordinary long rally in a game of gobshyte tennis, the same POV being sent back & forth and probably will do for years. Well kudos to you for that..... very commendable seeing as some have already put prices up because of the pound. I wonder if companies like Woosh that have put prices up will come on here to justify these price rises.... especially if those price rises have been added to stock they already had !

Yes i am cynical....... And when the pound goes back up, as it surely will, the companies that do actually put prices down, wont put them down without a fanfare. All of a sudden it will be a 'sale' or '20% reductions' Just like the companies like Argos, that inflate prices for a short limited...

I hope any undeserved price rises ends up biting these greedy companies on their asses and they see a big loss in sales.
