When i tested the Giant road-e it was awful even in full power mode it was as if it had no assistance so i bought a Bosch hybrid and turned it into a road bike,the Bosch CX motor has good assistance at all cadence.I have the weight down to 16kg.29mph on the flat is easy...(it`s for sale).

The bulletproof Panasonic motor in the pro connect probably became too expensive for Kalkhoff and they thought they could build a better one cheaper,big mistake.

When i had a software update because of a previous motor failure it was worse,a lot more pressure was needed on the pedals to get to the power and it would cut out very slightly over sharp bumps when the previous motor would surge,it was the S version.

We all know what it is like dealing with them because it has been posted on this forum quite a few times,sometimes perseverance works with them but i wouldn`t hold your breath.They know all about the problems and failures of the impulse motor and have been known to replace motors out of warranty.

I have it down to 16kg with carbon bars and seatpost ,light saddle and stem plus the tyres are 310 g each,retail was £3600.

It is fitted with a x3 speed deristrictor meaning it can do x3 the speed limit before cutting out,29 mph on the flat is easy.
