+1 on the BC168 recommended to me too by d8veh. It is so simple to use as you only need to connect the balance wires and set the charge/discharge voltage to whatever you want within the allowable safe range and set the charge amps.

You know I would really like one of those smaller bafang cst motors to make a wheel up with as mine is a heavy larger diameter but unfortunately never got a reply from oxydrive so I presume I would have to buy the whole kit. Shame (unless d8veh can flex some muscle? wink wink nudge nudge)

BMSbattery do similar looking bottle batteries but add aprox £40 import duty to the delivered price.

I built a wheel with BMSB 12g spokes and that only last a few hundred miles as they kept snapping. I quickly switched to some 14g ones and have done many thousands miles with no problem, so your problem may just be your current 12g spokes.

Please let us know how you get on, I would be interested in having a go at this idea in the future. My problem, I will have a 4s and a 6s I found I could not parallel charge so ended up getting a second charger to do them them both at the same time. I haven't actually got into using them yet though.
