    Front/Rear brake wear

Make sure your Discs support metallitic pads. Check if they have resin only stamped in discs. Alternatively look up discs part number, should be stamped on it. Being B01S pads I'll guess it cheap resin only disc.

Will bike shop set up suspension?

Car wheels don't have spokes, which tape needs to seal. They aren't likely to get pinch flat plus walls are lot thicker and more puncture resistant.

A dropper post would help with stop starts, but you will have to forgo a suspension seat post

    Bike for heavy user

Your in minority, here its close to 90% FS in our MTB parks. On our rocky trails there is no substitute for FS. Hardtails definitely win hands down when comes to cleaning the bike.

    Arthritis in wrists and thumbs...

You should be able to fit Di2 electric shifting to to Alfine. Gear change only requires button press. If replacing bike then Shimano STEPs motor with Di2 Alfine will give automatic gear shifting. This option may also be avaliable in newer Bosch ebikes as well.

    Riese+Muller Delite 2018 Nuvinci Review

The FS definitely makes a difference, on my MTB 60-70kmh is no problem, bike is rock solid. At same speeds on hardtail I'm lot more on edge.

Which chain for a Cube Reaction Hybrid Race 500?

I've always used KMC e11 because it came with FS bike and I've yet to have failure. New bike uses lot cheaper Shimano HG601. At price difference I can afford to change it at 0.5 instead of 0.70, which should improve chainring and cassette live. Would be interested in anybody's experiences using...

    Trek Powerfly 7 2018 hardtail

I've yet to put it to test in rain but suspect back one will need to move further around to stop water flicking up from rear wheel. Should be able make something or cut down another rear guard to extend front coverage of rear guard. The jury rig on front one isn't working out, will need to come...

Help! Is there a market for the Wisper Wayfarer?

Not sure 11spd would be of any use in this frame. I'm running 8spd with Activeline (48nm) and 2.1 ratio, it's good for 20-23mph in 8th gear while still handling all but steepest climbs with ease in 1st. New Nexus 5 combined with a 60nm motor should give similar performance.

Will bike shop set up suspension?

The only issue you may have if going tubeless is setting beads. Easy if you have work shop compressor or in my case scuba tank. Foot pumps may not be able to deliver enough air quick enough to set it. Even when tubeless carry a spare tube, some punctures the sealant can't handle.

Help! Is there a market for the Wisper Wayfarer?

What is the E7000 motor?. Currently there is E6000 (50nm urban), E8000 (70nm eMTB) and just announced E6100 (??nm city/trekking). Some think there is market for more capable stepthrough see R&M Nevo, Homage CENTURION E-Fire Country AVE TH11 ADVENTURE STEPTHROUGH. Please use 27.5 wheels not...

    Bike for heavy user

Hope he doesn't break it. My experiences are rider comes off 2nd best in crashes. James initially said bike was for exploring forest trails, I get impressions he is now looking at more MTBing tracks. As he pushes Gaint's MTBing capabilities he'll soon start looking at FS bikes.

    Lapierre Or Cube

While converting hardtail to commuter/trekking bike is compromise there are a few pluses. In my case bike will spend most of its life on road but I also wanted option of tackling some long distance MTB rides with my son. I now have 2 capable eMTB for us to use. I've ended up with more capable...

    Bike for heavy user

Haha brilliant. Don't think I'd have the money for another. I also have a rockrider so doubt that will ever get used again. Give it a year and you'll be looking at FS to add to your collection.

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

I've gone for SKS VELO 65 MOUNTAIN 29. Better coverage, need to order fork leg mount points separately. See my Trek Powerfly7 review thread. Its possible to add lights that are wired into motor. I found price was getting up there so put on hold for now. Besides light cost (Euro30 -300) will...
