    Haibike can't decide which model

Surprised you switch drives. If you stayed with Yamaha you'd have two batteries.

    Haibike can't decide which model

Check out Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500. At about £2000, has better components, larger battery (500vs 400wh), more powerful Bosch CX motor (75nm vs 60nm) than Haibike. For extra £200 the next model up has high end components and air fork which is lot better off road and in general.

Help matching my first e-bike wish list pls

With commuting, you are frequently going end up stopped lights in wrong(high) gear. In this case CD with derailleur is worst combination while CD with IGH is excellent but most expensive >£2K. For totally automatic operation, Shimano STEPs plus Di2 IGH >£2500. With rear hub drives you will need...

    Shimano STEPS range.

It will be E6000 and 400WH battery. Our bike has 38T chainring and 9spd cassette and can climb a short steep section on my regular commute with moderate effort at 10-12km/h. This steep section every commuter me included tackles in granny gear on MTB at 5-6km/h, if was much longer than 50m most...

    Shimano STEPS range.

Gaz at what level can you run battery down to. On my when it gets to 15% goes straight to 8% which is sign some of cells are flat. First battery did it at 25%, had it replaced under warranty.

    Shimano STEPS range.

Those ranges are best case on flat ground. 40-50 is realistic using eco and normal along as there are not to many hills. Add hour charge while having lunch at cafe and you increase that to 60-70miles. Still worth lunch charge if targetting lower distances as you can up the assist in afternoon...

Hopefully going to buy a wisper 905 torque

With hub drive, chain will last for ages as it only carries human power. Plus starting off in wrong gear won't be such an issue. Bosch CX drive is brilliant drive but it is demanding on drive train, requiring regular chain, cassettes, drive sprocket replacements. Towing heavy trail will be...

My first question is this bike legitimate. Sounds like it could be stolen. No keys, no charger and no display ( owner would removed it before locking up ).

Steps is equivalent to Bosch active in power and ride experience. Both systems have pluses and minus but to ride there is nothing in it.

Brand neutral charging in the future?

All it needs is 2 or 3 big brands (Bosch, shimano, brose) to come up with standard and every body else will follow or miss out.

The latest electric bike from Kudos Cycles - Mistral

Lot depends on what plan to use bike for. For commuting and light trail work these hub bikes are fine. If MTBing is your thing and there steep hills, then Cube is better option. For light to moderate MTBing lower spec Cube would be OK but in long run higher specced versions will be cheaper and...

    Hydraulic Disc brakes

Bike.discount.de sell front + rear M365 set for about €40. NB front is left, if you need to swap get bleed kit + bleed block and fluid. You will need it eventually and will allow for neater installation of rear hose. M365 excellent for road and light trail, for advance MTB I go with M615 or SLX...
