Safety advantages or disadvantages of e-bikes over conventional bikes?

Had an accident on my e-mtb in February and came off at lot worse than friend on standard bike. Both riding side by side and hit black ice. Damage to me and my bike much worse then him and his bike. On reflection and talking to bike mechanic this was mostly down to weight of bike.

Rear wheel cracked, advice on a stronger wheel please

i bought some hope hoops (flow ex downhill rims) on dt swiss 240 hubs and dt swiss spokes easy to service and up there with CK. They get great reviews. The only thing better imho for my bike were the enve wheels, but not worth the price difference. Read some bad stuff on mavic wheels, in terms...

Enjoying the ride is most important imho. I did a few amateur races and didn't enjoy them as your just looking at speed, cadence and time :(

yes that's the model s in ideal conditions at over 100k, the model x is 70k and real mileage is about 180 per charge with the new model 3 at about 30k and same mileage.

180 miles, initial cost +£70k, £10 per charge, and i still have to hire a car for longer journeys. Hmmmmm

I was having at look at the tesla model x, thinking ahead for next year, but not for me. In reality the car can still only do about 180miles per charge. A long way to go imho.

i'd heard the electronic seat post had niggles as well, so left well alone. my preference was a 70mm stem as a good compromise, with a riser/sweep bar in carbon to take a little bit more vibration out. finished with some ergo handles. this gives me confidence climbing and downhill.

    Archer wireless 1x shifting

Agree, i've not had much look with electronic shifting in the past. When the shifting went you were pretty much stuck, vs mechanical you can usually do something to get by.
