You think the Rims need replacing then?. I'm too old to do it myself so will be getting a Mechanic to do it......that's why I thought a new wheel and motor may be easier & cheaper.

I presume that 14 refers to year, I have the same bike except 18. I'm worried now as I have the same marks on my wheel rim. Measuring with a caliper they are both 25mm at the widest point. Halfords said the 14 bike needed a new wheel rim, but I'm sure he didn't examine it much....as he refused...

It was pointed out to me at Halfords that my 2014 Freego Regency needed a new back Wheel Rim. If I change the whole wheel out with a new Motor.......would this change the "Grandfather Rights" on the bike?

Booked my Wife's 24" 2014 Freego Regency Ebike into Halfords for a Bike service, Brakes, Chain, etc. They have done it nearly every year with no problems. When I left it in today....20 minutes later I got a phone call saying they would not do it as it was not on their List of Approved bikes. I...

I'm just short of 80 years old, and I can't imagine starting from a standing start without a throttle....my wife has a Freego Regency dated 2014....throttle legal.....I have the same bike....2018..throttle is illegal......a nonsense.........

Thanks, I have seen Wisper do it…for a hefty fee…..I have a full throttle bike and nearing 80…doubt if I would be able to go out without it…should be made legal…..

I saw this on a UK cycle ad today: Throttle – Up to 6 Km Per Hour – Please contact if derestriction is required for disabled use. What exactly is this ? Doe this men I can get the Throttle restriction lifted if disabled?
