    Discharge Converters?

Its the ideal diode setup, something like as shown below. I think the (insertion) loss is about 50mV.

    Discharge Converters?

The mosfets are mentioned in video above at about 5 minutes and as shown in photo below.(which I labeled for your convenience). I'm not sure whether that particular device allows parallel working of batteries or just switches.

    Discharge Converters?

I have to disagree. Running two batteries in parallel reduces the stress and sag of the batteries and I think is better, compared to switching batteries. The mosfets in the product above are better (less loss) than schottky diodes which loose about half a volt at full current.

Its possible to fit an additional quill type stem (often found on budget bikes) by taking off cap and punching down the spider nut. You can then fit two sets of handlebars, the upper as usual but a lower cut down set of bars on a shorter stem to support the basket as shown incomplete below.

    BMS question

That's why I am saying to use (the normal) thin balance wires and not use thick wire if externally wiring out the balance wires. https://www.powerstream.com/wire-fusing-currents.htm

    BMS question

To give an example, a permanent short or contact between 2 adjacent balance wires will result in full discharge of the relevant parallel cell group around the loop.

    BMS question

There is a potential risk with extra wiring that is unprotected (not fused) and can carry full battery, cell current. I think its especially risky if the balance wires are heavy as they can carry a large current if they short circuit. Light thin wire (but well insulated) could be safer. 24 awg...

Swytch Pro/Max yellow battery connector secrets revealed?

Could it be some kind of anti-spark arrangement to prevent the main connectors from burning when connecting the battery or charger? (or possibly for BMS to latch out the charger)

    Display query

I have a mid-drive (as well as a hub drive)(TSDZ)that I use mainly because it conveniently fits in the back of car with wheels quickly removed. Anyhow, the same happens when I quickly take my thumb off the throttle. In my case its worst as it jumps up several bars to give a full reading. I...

Help! Recommend me a front hub motor

I have got an extra few mm's of room with a xf07 by removing the disk screws and plastic spacer and fitting the tabbed washer on the outside on the disk side and extra washers on the other side . The six holes needs to be sealed (I used short very flat headed screws) and the wheel re-centered...

Are they the forks in photo below? Are they alloy or steel? Is there room for hub?

    Checking Multimeter Calibration at Home

'Black beer rots our young guts but vodka goes well' is probably more pc than the older 'Bad Boys R**** Our Young Girls, But Violet Goes Willingly' that I learned back in the 70s.

Alternative mounting of mid drive motor

It might work fitting a regular right hand chainwheel crank (but with the unused length of crank ground off), leaving the chainwheel and taper intact so it can be mounted on the tsdz tapered crank. You would then have two chainrings on the tsdz, the inner chainring mounted as normal on the...

    Which Front Hub Motor?

The 270 rpm xf07 that I have seem to quickly heat up the standard 15A controller that came with the kit. (I also had this problem with the 280rpm rear Yose 350W (2018) kit). With the larger 9 mosfet controller this is not a problem and the motor seems to perform as good as the front Yosepower...

    Which Front Hub Motor?

Mine is the older kit (2019) with LCD3, Kt controller and front light. The motor externally looks similar to an xf07 except for the thin locknut on axle. It has the long motor cable with no connector at wheel. If you put the cable facing down with a 'drip loop' there is enough slack to change a...

    Which Front Hub Motor?

I have both the yosepower 250 front (210 rpm/700/36v) and an xf07 front (270 rpm/26/36v). The Yosepower seems strong/reliable (and the controller runs cool) but it can be slow, particularly towards the second half of a journey as the battery volts drop. The 270 rpm xf07 is certainly much faster...

    Batteries Charging Routine

I use a water heater element from a 9 kw electric shower. At 5.5 ohms with all elements in parallel, it draws about 7 amps or less for 36v but I can disconnect some of the elements for a slower discharge. I can put it into a bowl of water if it gets too hot.
