    Brexit, for once some facts.

I came across this and while any connection with the topic of this thread may not be immediately obvious, it occurs to me that 120 years after Connolly wrote these words, Ireland may shortly suffer greatly yet again as a result of the Westminster government's influence. Tom

'The Canary' had an interesting take on the subject of animal welfare yesterday. Clearly, the EU has developed a greater sense of the need for protections than this UK tory government believes appropriate: really-need-discuss-latest-reprehensible-decision-conservative-dup-government-opinion Tom

Ricky Gervais had this to say on the matter of animal welfare and the tory government's attitude towards it: I share his opinion. Tom

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It has been evident right from the word go that the government is wholly ill-prepared for 'Brexit'. With every day that passes, the prospects for post-'Brexit' life seem to worsen and we have arrived at a point where the culprits in this fiasco are perversely attempting to blame the EU for...

I take a different view from you on that matter 'Danidl'. I'm afraid I can't determine how one is possible without the other and I don't trust the research scientists to make the distinction. Tom

'The Guardian' produced this yesterday and it serves to demonstrate just how little the tory government cares about both the British people occupying the north of Ireland and our neighbours in the EU state of Ireland. an-absolute-shambles-readers-on-the-irish-border-and-brexit Tom

Let's just recap and see if there's any truth in what the tory government has told the nation over recent years. This little clip serves as a reminder of just a fraction of the blatant lies encouraging words they have used: Tom

Why should we give ourselves all the pain and misery that will follow 'Brexit'? We should stay and play a full part in the ongoing creation of the US of E. Tom

Apparently, our government understands very well that A50 can be revoked if we wish to withdraw our formal notice of intent to secede. It seems they have legal opinion to that effect but have put their own spin on it and seem disinclined to accept the ruling they were given. Tom

Of course it's good news but had a tory government invested in our industries in the 1980s or, indeed, at any time since then, we could be as strong as Germany today. Tom

That is absolutely correct. No 'Brexidiot' has ever come up with an answer to the question of how and when we will benefit from secession. They are all guilty of gambling with the nation's fortunes and the future prospects for young people and the generations to come. Changing the subject...

Being a minister for 22 months does not confer one with an all-knowing authority on matters actually dealt with by senior civil servants so we need not pay particular attention to what Lilley has to say. As a trained killer, Peter, you probably spent longer in one foxhole than Lilley did as...

After today's news from Brussels, one wonders if there is any point continuing the discussions there. It strikes me that if we have nothing further to add, then we may as well crash out tomorrow then 'que se ra, se ra' If this were a game of poker, I think the point has come to chuck our cards...
