    Duotts C29 48V 15Ah cheap bike

    Yes, absolutely happy to look at this as a project. As I said in my bag of bike bits I have a KT controller and display. I will undo the battery compartment that holds the controller, see how difficult it would be to swap over and put the kt controller in a bag Will order the DNP freewheel...

    Duotts C29 48V 15Ah cheap bike

    So I thought I would try out one of these cheapo Chinese 250W 48V bikes as a bike that I could leave at my sisters and use when I go to visit. It would only be a daytime fair weather bike that I would use on rides with my sister and nieces for rides on generally empty roads and light trails in...

    Why do none of the big manufacturers sell conversion kits

    There's plenty of cheap, reliable kits around if you want to convert, alternatively can buy new basic ebikes from ebay / argos with 2 year guarantee - or refurbished from Halfords. What do you want to do with it ? How heavy are you, what range do you need, how hilly is it near you ?

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    I think the drc hybrid is different to the other two, no suspension, very light, almost like a flat bar cyclocross bike Either of the other too would probably be more similar to your existing bike

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    Lots of people here have used the Yosepower cassette motors and freewheel motors and I think they are both generally reliable. That 350w freewheel kit has a superior controller and display to the 250w kit although not within the UK pedelec law (max rated motor 250w.) There is a 250w freewheel...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    Yes it would work, but as others have said, you probably won't need that largest cog because of the extra power from the motor. Yes kmc chain, I would only change it if you need to Fwiw, I think that kit is very good value and decent quality and allow you to upgrade in future

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    Not completely sure but I've always just bought the cassette and fitted it onto the cassette motor wheel - someone will be along shortly if thats not correct !

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    Yes I'm pretty sure its a freewheel - doesn't matter, I've used cassette motor wheels to replace a freewheel rear wheel - just means you need to buy a cassette to put on the cassette motor wheel - the shifter doesn't know if its a freewheel or cassette https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205658252412

    Brompton Blues

    With the 15.5 mph top speed legislation, then if you are cycling mainly on roads then a hub motor has to operate between 7-8 mph up a really steep hill and 15.5 mph top speed. There are plenty of 201 rpm hub motors with 26" or 700c wheels that will happily operate pretty efficiently between...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    The alternative is something like a AKM-100 rear hub motor I don't think the frame and fork on the Escape 3 have mounting points for disc brakes - there are some adapters available but why not get a motor wheel which can support disc or v brakes (and then you can move the conversion kit to a...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    The Varun bike that I linked to above would be heavy to pedal around without any motor assist There are almost limitless possibilities when you are converting a bike , each with pros and cons. If you wanted a light kit that was easy to pedal unpowered , and just use the assist on hills, I would...
