Leonardo Di Caprio gets on his A2B Metro!

    He's a "cool" spanner though.

Leonardo Di Caprio gets on his A2B Metro!

Love this endearing line: "Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't have time to pedal a bicycle like the rest of the plebeians" There are pedals and I'm sure he does use them - and people on bikes are not plebs. Thank God it wasn't David Beckham. The "fixies" will never recover their cool...:D...

How many people use their e-bike as their sole form of transport?

No shame there Lantus - I'm much the same. My car is very low cost and spends most of it's time on drive but invaluable when I need it.

Aldi Special buys Thurs 16th Sept - cycling gear

TBH mine went to zero on several occassions. As you say the strap was probably a bit loose. I'm also a bit suspicious about the readings. I shall try the handlebar watch mount tomorrow - trying to read a wrist watch while cycling is inviting disaster.

Aldi Special buys Thurs 16th Sept - cycling gear

Tried mine today and works fine once it's warmed up. Plenty of sweat keeps the chest strap contact strong. Put some effort in Mussels..:D

Aldi Special buys Thurs 16th Sept - cycling gear

Yes, I tackled those instructions this evening and was up and monitoring within the hour - just!. My favourite line - "The following basic principle does, however, apply: everything comfortable is healthy." I retired to the sofa and put the telly on.

Wisper: SO hard to pedal without power

No problem with the Cytronex but that's no surprise since it's a normal Trek bike with a discreet lightweight Tongxin motor and NIMH battery. I quite often ride the bike unassisted for the extra exercise - sometimes with the battery on board and sometimes without - doesn't make much difference...

Radio 4 Join the Bike Helmet Debate

This subject is a regular and I'm still totally in agreement with Flecc. I also concur, from experience, that Doctors and nurses are, generally, not good role models when it comes to health and even safety. They have far too much stress to deal with. I think the most important thing when...

    Treat the Earth Well

Assemby lines and History: The Royal Navy beat Henry Ford to it with the Portsmouth Block Mills created in 1801 by Marc Isambard Brunel (father of Isambard Kingdom Brunel), Henry Maudslay and others, for the production of blocks for the Royal Navy. It was so successfull it was still in use in...

    Treat the Earth Well

"My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I drive a Mercedes, my son drives a Land Rover, his son will drive a Land Rover, but his son will ride a camel." attributed to Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai. On the bright side the future for pedal power and...

    Bike Parking

My local Halfords is all bikes upstairs (ex bike hut) but still no cycle parking facility. I use the Invalid Parking signs. On the same large retail park only Homebase and Sainsburys have cycle racks. I can usually find something more secure & much closer to the entrance though.;)

electric bike retailers are just businessmen

I'm not seeing an issue Griz. Given the niche nature of our interest the forum is very well attended and there's plenty of good input from members both independent & commercial. Junk posts and blatant ads are usually blasted. Most the commercial posters have been helpful if anything. I accept...

Just got knocked of the bike...

Unless they're mentally challenged (and some are) I'm fairly convinced that car drivers do see cyclists as people. The problem we have is the same as the one pedestrians and other car drivers have - people making mistakes and doing dumb things. I'm convinced you can make yourself more visible...

    Motorist apology

Let's not get too narrow minded lest we forget the menace that steps suddenly straight out into the cycle lane without a glance. The spin you can put on a teenage pedestrian is quite surprising.

    Keeping A Secret

Cold fusion battery in a flask with a lifetime range and a domestic plug in to provide all winter household heating requirements. Am I warm? I hardly thought it was possible.

    Casco emotion helmets

You missed the gloves which personally I wouldn't be without. You can get away with the glasses (inexpensive) and gloves but you start looking sporty and competent as soon as you put the shorts, helmet and cyclng shoes on. I find struggling to get my feet in the toeclips (not hard) before...
