Bromsgrove, Bromsgrove, Bromsgrove. Easy(ish) access for up to millions of potential buyers. Hills, central location, loads of commuters just down the road - what could be better.

Yes Lexus are at it as well: Lexus Hybrid Bicycle comes to UK | Auto Express News | News | Auto Express I saw a Lexus 4X4 Hybrid today. Hard to believe given it's the size of a Humme And just noticed I've made the same mistake and Ajax has already posted.

Impressive. The white Kingfisher MTB looks very nice. Interesting range and spec not to mention price.

    Tyre Goo

I've been considering getting one of those small cans of slime to carry for emergencies only. Anyone else use those.

What colour would YOU like to see on eBikes?

I'm getting a bit fed up with black and silver bikes. I'm rather partial to flame red. I really like that lemony yellow Brompton do too. Pearl white looks good. Pink just doesn't go with my shoes..

    Cytronex - calling Aldby/John

Yes, the Cytronex is probably as good as it gets for stealth. First the nano - even the guys in the bike shop where I had it serviced thought it was some sort of dynamo. Second, the battery looks like a bottle. Third the wiring is really neat and well hidden. 4th It is a standard production...

Ready made bike or Bionx kit?

Good luck Harry. I know where you're at. There's always some blasted flies in the ointment.

    Name your most comfortable saddle

And it looks like I may be restoring my old B17 saddle after all. Here's a good link on saddle comfort, some useful tips on avoiding numb nuts, and sings the praises of the marvellous B17. Forget the lurve groove and get into leather. RBR Newsletter No. 426 - Active Recovery

    Brake blocks

The deep black grove is there to indicate rim wear. No idea if the rest have any operational function or just left, as is, after production.

    Marin ebike project

Damned computer - can't see the piccies for some reason... Interesting you mention the BionX in-frame box/battery Flecc. Not my cup of tea either but it might grow on me. Not seen this conversion yet so can't comment. Reads interesting though. :)

    Any Recommendations for Commuter Bike?

All sounds good. I agree about the hub. The sweats an issue with the weather warming up. I have rucksacks that I use in the winter and a laptop and a notepad courier bag which is good for the summer since you can keep your back nice and cool. I'm not big on racks and paniers though they do have...

    Name your most comfortable saddle

I still have my old Brookes B17. They were good saddles but no lurve groove. Comfort is one thing bad news down the urology department is another. Only thing that puts me off resurrecting it. I've heard a lot of good stuff said about the Rido 2.

    Any Recommendations for Commuter Bike?

Just reporting my own experience to date. I haven't treated mine with kid gloves but I'll no doubt be purchasing a pair. :)

A reminder to look after your chain

Good post Lloyd and quite shocking. I use one of those chain cleaner gadgets from Halfords with the orange citrus degreaser. The stuff I'm very allergic to (rubber gloves and well ventilated area). I then spray the chain and cogs with dry lube (also from halfords). I leave it for a bit to soak...

    Any Recommendations for Commuter Bike?

I can't see compacted gravel being much of a problem. The state of the roads is becoming much more of a challenge Pesonally real off road I wouldn't do on any road/hybrid bike elecric or otherwise. I try and keep the shocks down to a minimum but I've hit potholes, mounted the pavement, bounced...

    Ultra-thin "credit card" bike

Ahhhhhhh all that power. Aren't they limited to 4 MPH on the pavement. I thought they were only capable of 8 MPH tops. I had a very near miss, myself, with one as I stepped out of a shop and he hit the wrong button or something  Still, senior citizens in cars can be a real menace...

    Any Recommendations for Commuter Bike?

It still wouldn't put me off though. A reasonable cyclist on a Cytronex could probably do the journey with a couple of miles assist to spare easy. I did on Sunday and Monday. A regular journey like that for a "youngster" would soon take the strain off the battery. I'm 55 and lacking horse/leg...
